Lovely! I am pleasantly surprised at how well the steering works. The big problem with using an axle with differential for the steering mechanism is that when you apply full brakes to one side, the opposite wheel spins at double the speed. Your video makes it look as if this is not a problem as your vehicle appears to turn just fine. Thanks!
Fantastic machine. Top speed looks good. Steering, tracks, good. Diesel, good. I would like to see it outfitted with a power angle plow. As such, It'd be the perfect vehicle for plowing my driveway, and grooming snowmobile trails. I'd be interested to know where the tracks came from, how much it weighs, and what the build cost was.
It's a cute-looking vehicle. Very cool though :) Are the tracks homemade? Also just a suggestion, but I would add more suspension travel, that would make it more agile off-road.
Tubodiesel could drive hydraulic motors. Or a single hydraulic motor on the drive shaft, and then brakes to steer. I really like the cabover look to this rig.
Kevin Hornbuckle A single hydraulic motor to the diff might be very slow. They don't spin fast and the diff will lower it further by about 3 to 1. You could rip out trees with it but it would only go 5 mph. I agree I like the look and great for snow because it can be heated.
R the breaks on all diffs and axles or only on 1 diff or axle because where fixing a vehicle just like this and was wondering if having the breaks on just one diff would still work thanks
yes it`s a golf diesel engine with automatic transmission in this video but the current version have a mercedes turbo diesel engine in it :) so stay tuned
What are the tracks been used? From some sort of a tracked loader? Diesel engine? Manual or Auto transmission? Thanks for sharing the video... looks awesome...
The tracks are from a hägglunds BV202 and the transmission is automatic...happy that you like it..it will be more videos of this machine, the current version have a mercedes engine and transmission so stay tuned :)
I like your little tracked vehicle if you do more testing add 90lbs to bed area(average weight of researching equipment) that should balance vehicle nicely.
That is ready for production fan..f%%%ng,,tastic!!! Just sort out cab styling...I would want at Gerry Anderson Thunderbirds (various) or UFO style front end...(don't want much, do I)
The diff is just orginal dana 30, from a volvo. nothing special, people say steering by braking is bad, but as you can see in the movie it works just fine. maby need to do a new movie soon. now the engine will be av much bigger mercedes 250td and higher topspeed :)
People are dumb, and much worse - dull. Steering by braking is the shit! It's so much more fun, and provides unmatched control in very tight spaces just for instance. Good luck with that new engine! Bonnvischan Racing now officially has a new fan! You guys seem like you are having a lot of fun :-)
@:04 it looks like there is a tractor tire with the sidewall cutout. Is that what you tried for tracks 1st? No luck? The cutting-brake diff steer seems to work great. I also don't know why people hate on it. Some say it wears out the diff too fast. You can't ZTR. Big deal, its practically free. Its probably trolls in the hydraulic and specialty drivetrain business. Of course you do have to add a manual locker if you want full traction, which are expensive and not super reliable.
OpenSource Citizen I agree, it's simple, less expensive, less to go wrong, and it works well. I wouldn't even consider a locker- not worth it. That would wear out fast and if one side slips, just apply some steering brake.
Lovely!

Fantastic machine, so stable with that low center of gravity. Well done
awesome,, its a great design, !
Very good work looks like it goes great
Excellent! Bravo! Nice work!
Amazing build man wooow, ...
Nice work on this! I like it! Do you have video(s) of the full build?
Works good , Nice project .
ser kul ut dedär, snyggt byggt👍
It goes well👍
Now that is my idea of snowmobiling

It will be more videos from this little red machine..will try to shoot it with the plow on too :)...the tracks are from a Hägglunds BV202

Fyhelvete så cool!
Excellent job...Do you have more build info/pics. What kind of diff?
Hello. I was wondering how you mounted the sprocket on the axle without the tracks interferring with the brake disk or drum?
hello nice project as you other photos or plans of construction, I would like to see how is intal the engine and transmission thank you !

So did you use the Gulf motor and transaxle turned sideways? Automatic? Great job, this is the best performing homebuilt tracked vehicle I've seen yet
yes it`s a golf diesel engine with automatic transmission in this video but the current version have a mercedes turbo diesel engine in it :) so stay tuned
MrYboss Is transaxle turned sideways?

Where did you get the left hand nuts for the tractor top link adjuster?
Go where no man has gone before!
brilliant , fun,
Could you please list what drive u use, may be list of main units?
I like your little tracked vehicle if you do more testing add 90lbs to bed area(average weight of researching equipment) that should balance vehicle nicely.
u made the whole thing?I was thinking about doing one,not sure were to start, nice job man, wish I could afford to buy one like that.
Joseph Tremblay I didn't build it but a friend did. The machine has been uppgraded during 3-4 years. Good luck with your project 👍🏻
Cooooool
хорошая подвеска!
Лучший самодельный гусеничный вездеход из тех что я видел.
where did u get the tracks
Is this just an open differential?
Jesse Jones yes it is an open diff
where can I get tracks like those I would say
Would a limited slip differential work or would it have to be open diff to turn?
open,.....,best with mechanical diff lock (nissan patrol)
@@0Renxx0 dont think lsd would work at all? I have some time invested in it already
how did you install the engine? it sound like a skidoo engine ,am i right?
great toy,i wonder how it goes in deep snow,
Nice bad ass
whats it powered by?
where can i get some tracks like that?
Does it have a heater
hur drivs bakaxeln? asså den låter som den varvar ganska skapligt, dubbla lådor eller?
What kind of diff?
Sweeeet
👍
I guess if I want a compact tractor, complete with PTO and Cat 1 hitch, on tracks, I have to build it myself. :-(
That is ready for production fan..f%%%ng,,tastic!!! Just sort out cab styling...I would want at Gerry Anderson Thunderbirds (various) or UFO style front end...(don't want much, do I)
Make a video describing how you made it please?
You need about 1000 pound counter weight in the back
snowcat jr. :3
It`s powered by a golf turbodiesel
Понять не могу от чего катки ,, колеса ,, используют . Кто подсказать может .

What is issue with steering by braking?? Seems like a regular diff and tracks were a made in heaven combination??
Did Bigfoot come down and tell you "Nice Job"
It seems to defy the laws of physics!
It should have fallen flat on its face at 1:42
But it didn't!

Бодрый драндулет но не плавает мы делаем плавающие
Send me prints so I can build it
did you find the plans ?
Swedish people everybody
quel moteur a tu .....
