    Tokyo DisneySea is the perfect version of DisneyLand. Not too expensive while still maintaining the magic. Just been there recently twice. It’s that good.

      I went twice in the 10 YEARS I LIVED THERE. Everyone wanted to go to freaking Disneyland. Don't get me wrong! Disneyland is dope! But disneysea was sooo much cooler. You had journey to the center of earth, 20,000 leagues olunder the sea, (before it got dismantled,) this really cool hurricane hunters ride and I'm pretty sure Indiana Jones was there as well! Tower of terror was also featured there, and God. I freaking loved the raging spirits roller coaster.

      That's so kind of them! That way, it saves the embarrassment of not being allowed on the ride in que, time wasted in vain and making sure safety protocols are followed. I just know the operators must have been so anxious to ask as well because they worry of being offensive. It sounds like you appreciated it, though, and showed class, so that's good. 😊

      @@DoctorKnox I can call it DLR or Disneyland Resort and DCA, Disney California Adventures but this is not a Disney specific forum.
      Plus Megan just refers to it as Disneyland in title but in reality it's Disney Sea. The patrons are much nicer and more respectful at Tokyo Disney. It's so nice the staff waive and smile at you. The Japanese hospitality is extended to you which is so nice. I've been to DLR like 40 times, but I'm done with it now. It's just too expensive even with a season pass. I go to Japan about once a year and I finally went to Tokyo Disney and it was the highlight of our last trip.
      And it's so nice I can just take the JR to Tokyo Disney vs driving to DLR, spending a fortune parking in that giant parking structure and then riding that ridiculously slow to load smelly tram to Downtown Disney.

      @DoctorKnox 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      @@ironqqq Disney California Adventure is a park WITHIN Disneyland, it is not another name for Disneyland. Disney Sea is yet again, a park WITHIN Disney Tokyo, it is not a different resort. That would be like calling Disney World "Disney Animal Kingdom". It's not, it's Disney World, and it has the animal kingdom inside the resort.
      There is ONE Disneyland, ONE Disney World, ONE Disney Tokyo, ONE Disneyland Paris, etc. They are all their respective names. They can't be used interchangeably. Megan is referring to Disney Tokyo, not Disney sea, Disney Sea is just one park in the resort.

    For those curious: Japan really wanted a Disneyland. Disney did not really want to build another Disneyland, that sounded like a lot of money and a lot of work. So they told Japan that, look, we’ll build you a Disneyland, but you have to pay for it, and in top of that we get a huge chunk of the profit, so Japan would say no and they wouldn’t have to do it.
    Japan said yes.
    So they built a Disneyland in Tokyo. Imagineers from Disney did most of the designing, and teaching the employees the Disney Standards.

Every cast member was a delight, I had a ton of fun, and my most memorable moments were talking to the people working there, who were just as excited about some of the stuff I had as I was! You'd think working there they'd be used to people walking through with merch, especially if it's as soulless as you describe, but now I'll be saying "Toontown gets all the best stuff" for a good while yet. I'm hoping the refurbishments are being pushed hard for Disneyland's 70th, and that when I go again, I will be able to do even more than before, TBH.

    I guess Japan having rides with nothing to do with Disney is the same thing Disney did with Pirates, Haunted mansion, Space mountain, People mover, Spaceship earth, Dinosaur (originally anyway) etc. They opened with no IP attached to them.

    I've been to Disneyland in California and Disney world in Florida (I'm not American) but when I went to Tokyo Disney I found it to be so much better. And I was so excited to see people actually being able to dress up in costumes. The food was cheaper and better, and I didn't actually mind queueing up for the rides there

    Tokyo Disney is still under the Disney Corperation's thumb. OLC has a license agreement with the Disney Corperation to be Disney Tokyo's management company. The Disney Corperation still maintains a high degree of control over the resort. Disney has non-Disney brands and products in all of it's parks. They add those things that are popular in the areas the park resides, as long as they can get the license for cheap.
    As for lines... how long have you been away from the USA? because... Black Friday? Heck, a Costco opened up near me and people lined up for the grand opening 68 hours before it opened... Yeah, almost 3 days.

    I remember there was a Jungle boat Ride with very realistic looking animals and my personal favorite being that one ride with dinosaurs.
    Idk if these rides are still around so pls tell me if they are.
    There also was submarine ride That I can remember which scared the crap out of me as a child
