This is the view on the tiaras 2 years ago. They just changed after the Oprah interview. The queen has forbidden Meghan ever be allowed to use any of the Queen's jewels. That is her discretion. They are her property, some personal items of hers and some in her guardianship from the Government. They are not frivolous toys. It's a privilege to wear any. Harry should have told this to his hard headed wife. But I'm sure she felt she knew better. And he's too weak to complain. He's used to towing the line.
My heart goes out to the royal family for having to deal with this selfish horrible woman. It is sad. That Harry has shown the world how weak and spinless and self absorbed he is. I think he has been far to privileged his whole life and he must feel entitled to everything he and markle want. The only thing worthwhile that he has ever done....military service and the games for the veterans. He was seen as a charming young man, but never showed any intelligence about real world developmens. Unfortunately with his recent engagements about foot prints on the world, he turns and does exactly what he said we shouldn't do. Markel is the wolf that got into the hen house and they better close that door tight. It's up to his family alone that can put a stop to all this nonsense and trouble that these two terrible people cause them. From US
How in the bloody hell is she "selfish and horrible women" what did she do? Other than quite the monarchy just to be more united to the family? This is a similar case just with Diana where she was terribly treated by the royal family and the British tabloids.
The Spencers own the Spencer Tiara and only those with the name Spencer or marrying into the Spencer name can wear the tiara. It belongs to Diana's brother.
Thank you! It amazes me so many people think it belongs to the royals. Princess Charlotte will be loaned the tiara as she is the Princess of Wales granddaughter but not own it.
Oh, like MM would turn down a tiara. They are all beautiful, not terribly practical even for elegant receptions, and probably have some unhappy histories, but, I wouldn't turn any of them down.
She was too self centered to not wear a tiara. I have seen the one she supposedly wanted to wear, which was incredibly beautiful and had several huge emeralds on it. Nothing subtle for the Markle! That she demanded a 60 million dollar wedding and left the RF within 2 years is a testament to her self centered, narcissistic personality. It was lovely to see all those tiaras tho!!
That emerald tiara was gifted to Princess Eugenie who is the Queens granddaughter on her wedding day. Makes sense for the queen to say no and save the tiara for her actual blood family, her true grand daughter. I also heard Eugenie asked for that tiara years in advance
Spencer tiara went back to the Spencer Family so inappropriate for Megs to wear; Lovers Knot was given to Catherine, so again, not appropriate for Megs; The Fringe tiara is only worn by The Queen, her daughter, the eldest granddaughter and next would be Charlotte, again not appropriate that Megs wears the Fringe. Ruby Tiara only worn at State Occasions. Girls of GB and Ireland, by the way, The Queen was younger than Megs is, but again, this tiara is very symbolic of the Queen and not appropriate of Megs. Megs could not wear the same one as Catherine - obviously more suitable for a future Queen. Megs should have purchased her own tiara or not worn one at all.
I wonder why the green emerald one the Queen has been wearing recently? Twice since January I've seen her wear it plus the necklace and earrings. It's gorgeous. Maybe it's a full crown and not a tiara. I'll have to check it out better next time!
@Andy Candy It was rumored Megz wanted to wear one with Emeralds, but Her Majesty refused. Not sure if it was The Vladimir or the one Princess Eugenie wore to her wedding. Believe non royal brides have to wear one with diamonds only. Of course could all be just fodder.
@Andy Candy Thanks couldn't remember the name of Eugenie's tiara! Pretty ballsy of Meg to want to use such a grand tiara as the Vladimir, but definitely agree with The Queen on that matter. As a non royal coming in and a foreigner you think she would be grateful just to be allowed to borrow one from Her Majesty.
@Andy Candy neither Diana, Kate not Camilla or even Princess Anne have have worn the Vladimir tiara. Only the Queen, who has worn it on important occasions. Meghan said she was shown five tiaras, and chose the one she wanted.
I, as an American would have liked to see her not wear a tiara as they aren't part of our culture. A crown of native American flowers would have been pretty. The tiara that she did wear looked beautiful but I prefer it with the sapphire brooch as opposed to the diamond one that was worn. However, I think Sarah Ferguson did it best when she walked up the aisle in flowers and after signing the wedding register changed into the newly made for her York tiara. It symbolized her as a commoner becoming royalty.
Seems like I've seen Americans wear tiaras and all kinds of headpieces at their weddings. My sister in law wore a hat. Tiaras can be made of all sorts of materials.
Honestly, I'm surprised she was allowed to wear one, since she wasn't royal - but Kate wasn't either so a precedent was set. The Spencer Tiara should be worn by Spencer girls only and any of the other choices would have been over the top compared to the Cartier tiara Kate wore. The one Meghan wore was the best choice for her dress. Fergie did it best with a flower crown covering her tiara upon entrance - and after the ceremony revealing the new York tiara with her royal status as Duchess of York.
Just found this in 2021!How about photo shopping these tiaras onto the pictures of these delightful young women,I think they would enjoy being princesses for a little while.
Joanne Butler--Oh, no...a porous (non-lacquered) wooden one. It absorbs smells so much easier, and MeAgain, while wearing it, could be reminded of just how much SHE STINKS.
@Kandy Kandy--Well, I see the original snarking snowflake sycophant is back--screaming her inanities. You really need to take your own advice. MUTING and IGNORING you now. Scream away...I'll neither know, nor care.
I highly doubt that the 6th Earl's wife (Diana's brother, Charles's, wife) is going to relinquish her right to wear the Spencer tiara just because MeAgain wants it. For one thing, MeAgain, had she not proven herself to be such a brat, would have had access to tiaras that Countess Spencer would never have. For another, Diana, as a Spencer, and the highest ranking Spencer in the family, had the right to wear it; MeAgain is a Mountbatten-Windsor, NOT a Spencer. The Queen, ER II, COULD command the use of it, but why would she when she has so many tiaras (not to mention a couple of crowns) she could wear of far greater value than the one that Spencer wives wear?
The Queen gas known her granddaughter all her life. Maybe she wanted that one since childhood. I can picture the queen chatting to her granddaughter discussing the tiaras as a child. There is a twenty some year history with her. She barely knew me me. Maybe a year or so. Of course you'll favor your granddaughter. And she had to wait till after m&h got married 1st. Maybe that was a special gift for waiting. To wear it on her wedding day.
Harper's Bazaar wrote an article indicating that there are no less than 40--FORTY--tiaras in the royal vaults. Some haven't been worn in many years. Some are worn, but not owned by the BRF. The politics of tiaras (their provenance, among other things) is complicated. Meghan wanted to wear a tiara that might have had negative repercussions with the USA, so she was told, "no"--and the word is that she wore a "paste" copy of a different tiara that day, not the real one--and had to wear another. For instance, the Strathmore rose crown that the Queen Mother wore quite a bit isn't appropriate for the Queen to wear as monarch of the UK and British Commonwealth of Nations, not just Scotland, which doesn't like being part of the UK any way.
Beverly Mobley-- MeAgain isn't a citizen of the UK; she's American. She rescinded her request for UK citizenship. The green tiara MeAgain wanted is of Russian origin and, out of respect for the ongoing tensions between the USA and Russia, ER II deemed it inadvisable for MeAgain to wear that tiara. When Harry told ER II that "what Meghan wants, Meghan gets", the Queen replied that Meghan would get what ER II said she could have. Eugenie got to wear the tiara because tensions aren't as volatile between the UK/Russia as they are between USA/Russia, so Eugenie, as a Princess of the United Kingdom, got to wear the tiara she requested. I suspect there's also a bit of ER II's putting Meghan in her place as well as pointing out that Eugenie was born a royal and Meghan was not, but that's just my opinion.
@@beverlymobley9059--It was reported on rather lightly back when the PR Hacks at the Palace were trying to explain away MeAgain's tantrums (the Great Tiara Hissy Fit) and behaviors (sticking her tongue out during a Sandringham Christmas walk during her engagement--the only fiancée of a royal to EVER be there before being legally wed. Kate didn't get that privilege--and she was a citizen of the UK).
One MercilessMing the emerald tiara worn by Princess Eugenie is Russian in design, but not in origin. It’s likely that there are many tiaras in the Queen’s vault that have not been seen before, and one of these could have been the tiara Megan wanted to wear. If that tiara belonged to the Romanovs (Queen Mary is rumoured to have bought a few along with the ones she bought from Grand Duchess Vladimir) it could be bad for public relations due to Meghan being American.
Ladies it doesn’t matter I will look what shape it is if somebody put a tiara on your head you’ll be honored let’s face it but you never have a going to have a chance to wear one
I don’t think Megan deserve a day off I think she brought more trouble I love our family and Philip that so much opinion not a big Swoll it is Megan does deserve it deserve a tiara
I think Harry and Meghan are beautiful people. And William and Kate are also beautiful people. They just have different personalities. They media should shine more light on their good causes rather than digging hate. The Royal Family is relevant because of the good they do in the society and the love they share and not because of these petty media squabbles. This petty media squabbles diminish their prestige because if the media can attack a seemingly weak link amongst them it opens the flood gates gradually for them to attack others till there's no boundaries left
The fringe and lovers knot. I love pearls and diamonds together. I’m so happy the queen has allowed Catherine to wear it so much!
Luckily she didn’t get what she felt she was entitled to.
She had no options.
“Meghan will wear what I give her to wear.”

Megan left royalty a year ago. She doesnt need a tiara.

I like the tiara worn by Princess Eugenie on her wedding day. Beautiful and classy
Princess Eugenie's wedding tiara was megan's first choice for her wedding
The SPENCER tiara and the CAMBRIDGE Lovers' Knot tiara are out. Sorry, M.
She does not deserve any
Especially anything Diana wore
It makes me sick she wears any of Dianas jewelry.
