Yea, I understand about having troubles getting it up in the morning because it's so dark and cold! My wife was commenting to me the other day that she noticed that it is difficult for me to get it up! Maybe when Spring comes it'll work better.
I've lived in Alabama for 43 years and I have never seen weather as cold as it was last week. Not to mention we got 4 inches of snow and ice that is just now gone. I'm just happy the kids finally went back to school today. The weather became more of a hostage situation than something to enjoy - with wind chills at -10, it was too cold to even go outside.
Not 100% sure, but I suspect it's colder in Jan/Feb because the thermal mass of the North cools before and after the solstice, after the solstice the heat loss is really felt. Then in Spring, the angle of the sun heats the thermal mass and the North warms. (Something like that, I'm drinking coffee and Claus has me thinking at 8AM for crying out loud). :)

Did you know that because the earth's axis is tilted and that it's orbit around the sun is elliptical earlier sunrises and later sunsets don't coincide directly with the winter solstice. Sunrises continue to get later for another 10 days after the winter solstice until the end of December and sunsets get later from around 12th December onwards, about ten days before the winter solstice.

Because a long time ago our calendar was different. We had 13 months in a year and each month was 28 days each. The First day of the new year is in April, not January in the middle of winter.
Why deos Claus hate Bassotto so much? 😥 Its a great tank to play! It's actually one of my top 3 favourites! 😀 Nonetheless, I would give Master of Pampers a good advice: dont use HEAT unless you really have to pen a heavy armored tank and it's really CLOSE, otherwise you are going to miss most of your medium or long range shots! Use standard APCR, they are way faster. You would be able to hit those moving tanks easily. And most of the time you dont even need the extra penetration of premium shells.

Claus, as a scientist, you ought to do some research regarding the myth that Christianity co-opted the winter solstice. The first known celebration of the winter solstice (Sol Invictus) in the Roman Empire came about in 274 AD under Aurelius. However St. Hippolytus wrote in his commentary on the OT Book of Daniel (written between 204-211 AD) that Jesus was born on December 25th. And prior to that, the Church celebrated Christmas on Jan. 6th, and some Orthodox Christians continue to do so to this day. So the Christian holiday of Christmas being celebrated on Dec. 25 predates the Roman pagan Sol Invictus by almost 70 years. Also, the early Christian Church suffered much persecution from the Roman Empire because they refused to accept the pagan Emperor worship. I live in Arizona, but I am from Cleveland, Eastside snowbelt.... The people here freak out when it rains. Sure it is a desert, and we don't see rain much, but the roads are wider, and perfectly straight. Yet morons fly off the perfectly flat and straight roads all the time. It's amazing how bad people freak out about a drop of water hitting them in the head. Then they drive off like lunatics onto the wet asphalt, and slide off the road into a ditch. I drive by, looking and think....what a moron. Then 100 ft. down the road there are 3 more, one is upside down. This happens even in dry weather. Maybe the rain has nothing to do with it. Maybe they are just normally stupid.

Low tiers are fun to watch. They are unpredictable. Unlike upper tiers, they are predictable. Lets see, upper tier.... umm, they use OP tanks, or op reward tanks, they shoot gold exclusively, all the try-hards have XVM, so they know if your any good or not. The maps are too small for tier 10, so you will be spotted shortly after the battle starts. There will always be an EBR105, that no one can hit. And everyone blind shoots all the typical hiding spots... with gold rounds. So once you learn whereto hide and whereto go in the lower tiers, it will be useless info in the upper tiers.... so no matter how long you play, you won't know anything about tier 8+, till you play there. Also, when you play any tank from t6-t10, there will always be a Skoda T-56 platoon, and a Bz-176 on the enemy team, and you will have a Lowe' and IS3 platoon to match those enemy tanks.... EVERY single time!
my rule to any game, is... If I get zero damage 3 times in a row, or lose many times in a row.... well...that is not fun, so stop playing and find a new game. Its a good thing too, I found dozens of games that are more fun than tanks, any day, any time. I ended up spending my money on the other "fun" games, instead. Hope this rule will help you all find something fun to play, too.
