@@aldegebra77 as a fellow?! Man I thought at least after residency it would stop. Glad to be a PA, at least I got to exit the student role a lot sooner. Ahh medicine, what a wholesome supportive field
I felt every single part of this. Especially when the resident/fellow/attending tells you to "hang out with the patient" while they get the consents ready/chart. Except they take 15 minutes so you stand there, afraid to leave because said res/fellow/attending may walk up while you stand outside. And proceed to berate you in front of the nurses, patient, and patient transport team.
Just had a procedure done last week and only got some sedation but I was afraid of feeling pain. The anesthesiologist told me: Don't you worry, I go hard on the fentanyl. Don't remember a thing!
Hehehe this is pretty accurate... in my case it was an emergency appendectomy while 27 weeks pregnant. They had me on a high dose of dilaudid and every time someone came in and introduced themselves I would cry and earnestly ask them "Do you like your job? Are you happy? Are you having a good shift?" and then I would ask them their name multiple times and say something like "I'm so so sorry but I'm not going to remember that. I'm on drugs. Reallllllllyyyy strong drugs. I feel fine!" and then cry again.
Nailed Anesthesiologist being so chill all the time, and the surgeon answering all questions with “maybe” and “depends” And the nurse “easiest stick ever” followed by “your veins are very bad must be you, definitely not me”
I’m pretty sure the joke was that because it was easy she gave it to the med student to give them an easy win and help them feel confident in themselves
@@potatorurik7536 umm I don't think so since the dude was part of the anesthesia team and was asking about consent haha. I think the nurse was trying to get with the anesth 👀😆
Man I'm getting flashbacks. Just realised I already finished my last surgery rotation. If everything goes well I'll never have go to theatre again! Fingers crossed
My favorite part of pre op is pulling back my cap to show the anesthesiologist I’m a ginger. Also if they seem cool I’ll ask if I can push my own propofol. They love it when I hand it back to them.
Usually when a patient asks me as the anesthesia provider if it’s going to hurt, I tell them it depends because every person’s pain tolerance is different, but if they are in pain they will be given pain medication and depending on the procedure we can also do a regional block to numb the area so that it doesn’t hurt for a couple of hours, which is useful if the surgery is in the evening so that they can get a good night’s sleep with no pain.
I have benadryl in my allergies list because i get the adverse reaction and hallucinate off like 25 mg of diphenhydramine and i get that same side eye every time. I’m always like “look, give it if I need it, just also have some ativan or something drawn up as well”
i love your videos so much but could you please provide subtitles? im not a native speaker (but i guess the medical experience is an internationally shared one)
I just had septorhinoplasty today. The treatment was appalling!! They did my questioning and pre op in the toilets!! Sent me home because lack of beds ( even though this was pre booked operation) they gave paracetamol … I was supposed to get a nasal spray but the nurse put down for eye drops. When I told her she said oh we can use eye drops on your nose it’s ok !!! NO it’s not. Incompetent! And they have the nerve to go on strike for better pay!
Wait maybe I transitioned wrong. Nobody respects my pronouns here and I don't know why because my pronouns never did anything to y'all. Oh shit I thought it said I was A pre-op, not IN pre-op. Oops
The medical student getting mistreated by an attending who doesn't do the consent thoroughly is just perfectly accurate.
honestly ill just be cashew at this point
I crave Cashew the med students confidence. If the attending got my name wrong, that became my new name.
Lmao fr 💀
You'll go further than Cashew lolol. The ones that correct become the Dougs in Scrubs lol
@@morsumbra9692oh poor Doug. Nobody wants to be a Doug
Me too... but i dont know anyones name either so
LOL
"Oh you're in pain? ok great" is such a classic. It's like saying "you too" when the waiter brings your food
"Oh boy, there's more of that coming up bud"
I feel personally attacked by the little wave the med student keeps doing
Same, I’m on my second rotation and I do this…I didn’t have to be attacked like this lol
The consent form in Comic Sans is an unappreciated detail.
He just does not miss, incroyable
Anesthesia much chiller than surgery ✅
Consent form not signed ✅
Student abused ✅
IV miss ✅
Justice for Cashew!
Too good lol “DON’T EVER INTERRUPT ME IN FRONT OF A PATIENT AGAIN.” Made my stomach crawl…ah good ol PTSD
Happened to me as a fellow. Still haunts me to this day.
@@aldegebra77 as a fellow?! Man I thought at least after residency it would stop. Glad to be a PA, at least I got to exit the student role a lot sooner. Ahh medicine, what a wholesome supportive field
Man if a doc did that in front of me as a pt I would bail so fast
pfft tell the attending to kindly f%*&k off and get my name right. Drop your huevos son.
The meek silent wave at every interaction is max med student
Glad to know anesthesia always loves using alcohol references to approximate the feeling of anesthesia induction.
The medical student is too accurate 😭
Just what the doctor ordered.. a fresh 2 minutes and 19 seconds of med school PTSD 💪🏼
swear
You forgot the anesthesiology resident repeatedly asking the student where the surgery team is once the patient is ready to roll.

White lightning lol
You know the proprietory blend, don't you...
The surgeon reading off the precautions like they would NEVER is sending me.
0:04 "hey!! uh, oh... you know... haha, my name's Cas-" 10/10 introduction
As someone whose had several procedures this is spot on. The anesthesiologists are certainly my favorite and most accurate imo.
Anesthesia gang looking at cashew from a distance feeling bad for the poor soul

I’m so glad you’re posting for yourself and we get to witness it

Mahnn the anesthesia team coming in hot brings a lot of memories
I absolutely hated surgery and I’m so glad I never have to go through that again (hopefully). 10/10 spot on
"i guess this is my medical student Cashew" ........"errr sorry its Kishan"........."okay". - DEADDDDD
I think this might be one of the best videos you've put out. Your youtube channel is criminally underviewed
When the nurse looked @ the med student in the corner LMAOOOO 0:36
Man I'm getting flashbacks. Just realised I already finished my last surgery rotation. If everything goes well I'll never have go to theatre again! Fingers crossed
Hahaha "5 of them!" bang on for team anaesthesia
I've been in preop about 4 times the past couple of months and you hit this on the head. Absolute classic
this is literally PTSD shit and I am now uneasy. congrats. how the fuck do you keep making vids that make me feel like this.
Not mid! ❤
The way the surgeon blinks at the med student is spot on
It’s always madness in that last second before the video cuts 😂
The allergy to Benadryl is a classic touch

"Allergic to Benadryl" im loving the continuity between all the videos
Don't EVER interrupt me in front of a patient
the Dr Woof scrub caps are on point
The ending just tops this up 🙌🏼😭😂🤣

I am all in on the anesthesia content if you so wish to create that btw
"You have the juiciest vein; this is going to be SO easy." AHAHA
This is a accurate as it gets! If anyone has lucked out and never had surgery, this is what it is 100% every time.
I had two surgeries in the last 5 weeks and this is bringing me riiiiiiight back. No med students involved in either, though. Sad.
Lol the 'proprietary' propofol mix
Fuck man this is too real 😂 as the patient, the med student, and anesthesia lmao
Omg why is this so accurate
I have benadryl in my allergies list because i get the adverse reaction and hallucinate off like 25 mg of diphenhydramine and i get that same side eye every time. I’m always like “look, give it if I need it, just also have some ativan or something drawn up as well”
All of this 😂 seen it and been through it!!! Classic.
As a nursing student the nurse not being able to get the stick after hyping it up is so true
haha the magic curtain
The easy stick that turns into a “hard stick 😂”!!!😂😂😂
This is too real. Im getting PTSD from that surgeon actress
OOOF. Dr. Adelle about the name interruption. I pulled back from the screen, I cringed so hard.
Hahaha white lightning. Too good
That consent is hilarious
As someone who is chronically in the OR due to chronic stuff. This is a mirror down to a T. 😂
If you don't have a fanny pack are you even anesthesia?
delightfully campy
“I guess this is my medical student Cashew” 💀
• Infection (fingers crossed lol) needs to be an actual part of the pre op waiver 😂
Everything is so accurate
Nice acting team 😍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Amazing content
The ending 😂😂😂
i want kids from preston its how good he is
I will steal this consent form😂
That lady Doctor haunts every OR.
