As a software developer (data scientist) working at Microsoft, I want to assure people that AI isnt a temporary fad boom and bust story. Micron with their memory chips is one of the best company to capitalise from this new software development as AI become widespread ubiquitous in every software applications. The use cases of AI is essentially every single software application so its TAM is the summation of all software companies at present value. AI will evolve into new paradigms (of which LLMs is just one) requiring every growing amounts of memory and processing power. 2025 will just be the start.
I’m not a software developer but I can I see how much it will change things. If you can’t you probably don’t have a good imagination. It’s like people doubting the pc or the internet. They will look very stupid in a few years.
Understand your reasoning. But things do not always stay the same… For example, Nvidia stock was much more volatile and a significantly worse performer for several 8-10 years periods when compared to Microsoft. For example, between mid-2006 and 2015, NVDA down -4%, while MSFT up more than 100%. Guess volatility goes both ways, and can actually be a better investment, even on the long run, if played right.
MU will be a great stock to own for at least the next 3 years. Yes, memory chips have always been a commodity but with AI and the memory bottleneck that comes with it, memory is becoming less comoditized and more specialized. High bandwidth memory is the winner right now, and MU will benefit from that.
Fair value for Micron is something around 20x forward PE meaning it should be a $171 stock. It'll only be time until the stock is correctly priced. Investors are still thinking AI is a temporary boom and bust story when in actuality it's going to be ubiquitous in software applications.
Got caught in the hype and bought at $140 just before previous earnings report with disappointing guidance on. Still holding b/c the business is still hot and should eventually go well past $140 eventually.
It’s funny and interesting, I remember what you said about #MU in the video when you talked about pure storage. I encourage not to talk bad about company unless it’s something you analyzed and explain to viewers. The same applies to intel.
Is this like an "I know what you did last summer?" type of comment? We're kinda confused. What exactly leads you to believe we aren't doing any analysis?
I love your contents but recently you guys started to say things in between the lines that doesn’t even have to do anything with the video topic! Saying oh intel is all rumors is just not helpful! We know you always brought verified news and data but stop acting like you know the unknown!
I haven't heard of AWS, Google, Microsoft or Meta making their own memory, or planning to. I think it's likely that Nvidia doesn't use the optimum amount of HBM with their chips, because they'd rather sell their own IP. That could change if or when the market for accelerators gets more competitive, and I think the hyperscalers are likely to use nearer the optimal amount of HBM with their own accelerators. Still, I'm likely to sell MU before I sell LRCX. I think there's still some way to go, even if I hold MU through another big dip.
Thanks; that is very encouraging news! I read your notes before watching this video. I'm excited to see Lam take off in 2025. 2025 should be a massive year for CSI, too. I imagine you'll hit 250k by December 2025 if the markets take off as expected.

Interesting. What are your top investments other than Micron?

I have bought just about before earnings and DCA for full 3 months 😂🎉🎉🎉
I’m with you 😂

MU trading at a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of just 12.6. For some perspective, that's a 60% discount to Nvidia's forward P/E ratio of 31.3.

$140 is very realistic
I'm holding the bag at 132
You should had averaged down when it was in the 80s and 90s

I'm long MU and have no complaints, I just want the chipstockinvestors to stay well informed and say what they think.

@@chipstockinvestorwell, you told us in one of the latests vids that it is better to invest in fab5, not in MU...😮

Thanks for being a part of the CSI community, Mark!
Excellent review!!! Bought MU three weeks ago for $86, already up and holding…
nice job. hang on and perhaps buy more on any election dips we may get...
I love your contents guys! Stay focused!
MU too much like an oil company for my tastes. Memory is commoditized.
historically you are correct, but this AI cycle is going to lengthen the frequency. also MU has some very efficient HBM...
@@darrenhere5856 I'd rather own the chip companies with a technology moat.
