    This video features disturbing true scary stories to tell in the dark, or creepy fictional horror stories. All of the videos on this channel contain terrifying tales narrated by professional narrators and voice actors, many with sound effects and music. People listen for many reasons, some being to help them relax, to listen to something scary, to assist with relaxation and sleep, and another is for entertainment purposes. Whatever brought you to the channel, we hope you enjoy.
    Photographer Katie thinks she has reached a career-defining moment when she sells a photograph of a widowed television star grieving at her husband's funeral to a national tabloid magazine. Katie's picture-perfect moment is marred, however, when a mysterious, disturbingly thin man, appears in her otherwise pristine image. The mystery surrounding the unidentified mourner deepens when she discovers just how much the stranger knows… about her.

    At first, the description of the "mourner" as the, "thin man", made me think of The Slenderman. Of course, Slenderman doesn't speak to people, because he has no face, thus, he has no mouth. I'm guessing that this "thin man" or "mourner" is the personification of Death, The Angel of Death, or The Reaper. I just love how his real or true identity remained a mystery until the end of the story. It added a strong element of mystery and curiosity to the plot of the story. Still, this was a very good story, and the voice acting and accents were outstanding! The sound effects of her car crash were well done and spine chilling. Over all, I enjoyed this story, and I look forward to more stories with these talented actors and author(s). 😁

    I love listening to a well put together story much more than watching a movie. For regarding the former, one is limited only by ones imagination. In this case I'm not sure what that says about me considering I deem this story extremely well written, acted, produced, etc. And it's perfectly brilliantly creepy. In the end, I imagine we will all see a version of The Mourner. Ahh yes, he WILL be there...

      I agree with Jacee k. A person can always scare themselves far more efficiently because our imagination by default, is the garden of our fears. So the images in our minds while being read to or told a story to, will always be the kind that scares us most. Movies cannot compete.

    This is masterfully done on all levels. The story and voices were some of the best I've heard. The way they all came together resulted in something greater than the sum of the parts.The thin man's voice was perfectly creepy while also smooth and appealing in an uncanny way. I think I will listen to this again now.

    I really loved the ending. It's what I really want to happen to people who are impatient and especially rude when there is a funeral procession going on the road. *I still have this thought when a bastard was honking, trying to pass by my guests following the hearse driving to my father's grave*.
    People who think they have the right to be arrogant, rude and impatient to do whatever they want and disrespect a person without consideration, deserves what they get in their outcome of being an ass on the road and to people. WHICH TURNS OUT WELL BECAUSE I SEE THEM AS CRABBY ASS LONELY PEOPLE WHEN I PASS BY THEM. I even have proof because I have a lonely, arrogant, bitter, racist middle-aged lady who lives across from me. Nothing turns out well for her when she tried to make someone have a terrible day because in the end something bad happens to her without or with the person she was trying to harass. Either it would be she fell and humiliates herself, she steps in her dog's shit, gets a blind date with an ugly guy, or forgot her house keys. (I hear this constantly from loud nosey neighbors who are friends with that awful person whenever I go get my mail. God, I sometimes wonder if they have hearaids, they are 2 old ladies with nothing else to do). Also the lady across the streets harass people because she has nothing else to do. That was her reason from all the yelling and shouting nonsense at my guest when they tried to talk to her reasonable about her snooping around their cars, taking pictures, and even tried to tow it. We had to think bitter to understand what her scrambled words meant.

    • @oren1305
      @oren1305 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wishing death upon someone for being rude would make you just as bad, if not worse, than the arrogant, impatient and unpleasant people we all deal with daily.
      And bad things happen to perfectly good people, too. Because that's life, sadly.
      I certainly enjoy a tale with morals and karma for poorly behaved or depraved people, but Katie didn't deserve to die. It's a well-crafted and excellent story, nonetheless.

  • @HollowDestruction

    Can someone with a greater capacity for empathy explain why the thought of publicly exposing someone's grief drove her to act so crazy? I would think that to the star, her own family's support would be enough. Who cares who else knows a member of your family is dead?

    • @HollowDestruction
      @HollowDestruction 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's what I don't understand though. I just can't equate a funeral with anything deeply personal enough to warrant such emotion. A private cremation maybe, but a funeral right out in a public cemetery doesn't seem like a secret to begin with; and as a star wouldn't she be used to every aspect of her life being inane small talk anyway?

    • @saysHotdogs
      @saysHotdogs 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      When you break it down logically like you did, you're right. It doesn't make sense. But someone in the moment who is already in an emotional state of wtf isn't going to be that logical. If she was, she'd be without empathy justifying her invasion of privacy and cheapening of an intense moment of grief in another human being who would be soon watching the media explode over her loss. It would haunt the woman who is already faced with the daunting task of getting on with her life despite the huge hole in it and prevent her from moving on. Also, the funeral was probably the deceased's wishes and it was performed in a private area to avoid such intrusion. What the photographer did was wrong. Having a funeral doesn't mean that people have the right to take photos of you to entertain thousands. It's right up there with an asshole partner posting your sex tape online. Sure, you willingly did it but it was to only be for the two of you to enjoy. Does it mean you deserve to be exposed? No.

    It was'nt supposed to be a mystery it's the very fact that the outcome is inevitable and fated to happen that gives it the horror...knowing what is coming yet still being powerless to avoid it is a story telling mechanic that plays on primal fear.....imho of course, great job by all i thought thank you!!

    • @garethshore3217
      @garethshore3217 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Got it in one, Paul! The intention was to show that the Thin Man was obviously 'otherworldly' (a kind of parasitic supernatural being - not necessarily the Grim Reaper) quickly and create a sense of inevitability, rather than reveal it in the kind of final twist that many readers - especially in the horror genre - expect. Glad you enjoyed it and you're right, CTFDN did a great job with it!
