Sooo happy for Sweet Lily, such an amazing find. I would never have considered gold over platinum, I learn something new from most every video, thank you, thank you, thank you. I hope your day is as sunshiny as you.
The sleep monster got me last night! I am loving this video and what a great tool to have. Thank you for letting me send the necklace to you. You are one awesome friend!❤❤❤🤗
This is such a game changer! So quick and easy to use and no Mess or burning yourself with acid. I love It! I know What I want for my Birthday Now! Thank you so much for sharing!
Ok, THAT machine is COOL! And accurate! I love it. A keeper for sure. You have thousands of dollars of gold there and I remember when you found most of it. Those pure gold earrings are cool too! I’m happy for Lily! Congratulations.
New here,,,,,checking out the video to see if the gold machine works! ❤😊 It will cost me 500.00 to purchase so I’m not sure if I want to pay that much. If it doesn’t work well.
I use it after I use the acid to back up and check my findings. I still use it and think it is another way to confirm the acid results. Thanks for watching.
Hi Shady, Thanks for the great video, I have the same machine, and I was wondering if you know what the adjusting black circle on the screen area is? I accidentally turned it but now sure what it is. I would appreciate if you help me. Thank you!
I know there are a few white metals that don't work with acid well I think aluminum, nickel, and steel if I remember correctly so I wonder if the same issue can happen with the key tester. After looking at your video I'm definitely going to start looking into this much more though I'm also looking at one of those insanely expensive xray machines I just keep hoping to find an alternative cheaper machine and this one looks promising
Everybody has their own way of doing things and I just started watching your video but I just wanted to mention with the Hong Kong piece you said you're going to test it with your acid just so you don't waste acid I test with my magnet obviously fit sticks it's all good if it doesn't stick then I go further and break out the acid
Agree with former opinions-- the KEE is a keeper! Thanks for sharing. For Sweet Lilly's platinum chain, it looks like SRI PT NYC (all run together); if this is the case it's Sri Lankan Platinum destination NYC. (I took a screenshot and used a BW filter. Also, a blacklight would help tone down the shine to get a better reading of the lettering 😉)
I’m really confused. You clearly said the big chain was silver underneath so how come it didn’t fail the acid test? I’ve seen other tests of plated rings and it immediately dissolved. I’m watching because I have a gold tester I got in a metal detector deal that looks like this brand. I wonder if fine chain links like the earrings don’t conduct current properly?
Sometimes, if it’s gold plated, it’ll still read 14 karat gold so sometimes it makes mistakes or you just Gotta keep checking it and if it reads a lot of places fake it’s fake it’s just plated gold but it does pick up the gold contacts in it if it’s played it
So I assume the platinum chain is hollow with gold plating? It sounded hollow. Platinum is a very heavy metal. The gold tester seems faster to get results than doing the acid test. 👍🏻
17:57 Put your glasses on sister your probe was touching the alligator clip during this test and is clearly seen in the video. Try testing the post and and the mount separately. Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter
VERY IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ! SHR’S TOP 5 KEE TESTING TIPS 1. Calibrate your KEE Tester with the enclosed 18K YELLOW gold Stuller earring back. Place it down on the test plate. Lightly touch it with the uncapped, fiber tip pen probe, and adjust the calibration knob so that the needle falls in the center of the 18K range. Please keep the18KY calibration sample with your KEE Tester at all times. 2. “SNAP’ the pen probe cap tightly closed after testing the item or items. NOT DOING SO WILL DRY OUT THE FIBER TIP AND SUBSTANTIALLY DECREASE THE LIFE OF THE PEN PROBE. Replacement probes are regularly $65 USD. 3. Please confirm your meter needle resting settings are correct! The needle should rest on or near the first black line when the unit is powered off. The needle should rest on or near the last black line when then unit is powered on. 4. Gently Clean with the pumice cap a skinny area (avoid fat areas as the high karat and fake finishes will lead to a false positive). For example, 10-Karat Yellow will test low 14 if you do not gently clean a skinny area so that the high karat finish is erased. ON HEAVY PIECES, A FILE SHOULD BE USED TO CLEAN THE SMALL AREA FOR TESTING. REMEMBER, THE AREA THAT YOU CLEAN WILL FACE UP TOWARD YOU WHEN IT IS ON THE SILVER CONDUCTOR PLATE SOTHAT THE PROBE TOUCHES THAT CLEANED AREA. 5. Use only light pressure on the pen probe when testing. Excessive pressure will cause the fiber tip to distort, which can shorten the pen probe life. *Message Steve Hartz 24/7 on FB Messenger or on cell phone, (407) 413-3332 for support. *Request membership to the FB Group, KEE Tester’s Forum for Jewelers and Pawn Shops. Nice job. I loved this video. However, please use an 18K YELLOW Gold calibration piece (do you have an earring back or jump ring)? If not, I will send you one at no charge. When you calibrate with white gold alloyed 18K, your normal yellow will be skewed a bit. So, it is important you use yellow gold 18 unfinished piece to calibrate, and do not ever calibrate with white gold. Those earrings are 750 gold. Simply clean a skinny area, entry point with pumice or file, and you will see that it is 18, not 22. Also, follow my Top 5 Testing Tips Sheet (extremely important and easy to read) so that your Kee is working perfectly. Contact me 24/7 for free KEE Support.
I dont think that to be platinum...it needs to be deeply scratched into with your file...i have had many bracelets that tested gold but when cut into the center was not gold...for info only not to downgrade a possible fabulous find..also it could be made in a foreign country the way its made without the links soldered i would never had believe it to be real...hopefully its real.
Yes, It is signed Hong Kong, so we know it was made there. But it is unusual with the light gold wash. We will keep researching and do an update once we find more information. Thanks for watching!!!
I was informed that 18K White Gold doesn't test the same as the Yellow 18K on the Kee Gold Tester. So changed over to using a 18K Gold piece to calibrate and it tests so much better. Thanks for watching!
This tester is definitely a keeper! It was fascinating to watch how well it works.
Thanks for watching. I am pretty excited about it!
Sooo happy for Sweet Lily, such an amazing find. I would never have considered gold over platinum, I learn something new from most every video, thank you, thank you, thank you. I hope your day is as sunshiny as you.
You are so welcome! And thank you for watching!!!

Congratulations! Where did you find the necklace? A box?
Aww thank you for sending it over. You are the best and can't wait to find out more about your necklace. Thanks for watching!!
This is such a game changer! So quick and easy to use and no Mess or burning yourself with acid. I love It! I know What I want for my Birthday Now! Thank you so much for sharing!
Oh I completely agree. It is so fast! And like you said no messy acids! Thanks for watching!
Ok, THAT machine is COOL! And accurate! I love it. A keeper for sure. You have thousands of dollars of gold there and I remember when you found most of it. Those pure gold earrings are cool too! I’m happy for Lily! Congratulations.
Very cool! It is exciting when you put it all together like this. Thanks for watching!!!

Interesting. The KeeGold Tester is a keeper.
🌺🌺🌺
It really is! Loving it! Thanks for watching Irene!!
Hi Shady,
Thanks for the great video,
I have the same machine, and I was wondering if you know what the adjusting black circle on the screen area is? I accidentally turned it but now sure what it is. I would appreciate if you help me. Thank you!
Thanks for watching. Hmm, that is a good question. I was under the impression it was just the nut key for the needle.
Love this machine, thanks for showing how it works!!
You bet! We love it too! Thanks for watching!!

I am still loving this machine. Tonights video shows the gold filled. Interesting!
What a great new tester, I think it does a great job, congratulations on Lily’s chain what a score she’s going to be surprised 👏👏👍👍💖💖
Fingers crossed! Still research to find out why it is gold washed. But very exciting! Thanks for watching!
Great video! I believe this tester will be awesome to have! Congratulations Sweet Lily on your platinum piece! Wow!!
Thank you! 🤗
Sweet Lily really scored with that necklace,! Wowser! That Kee tester is fantastic.
I know, It is exciting!! Loving the tester. Thanks for watching!
Loved this video. So exciting to go down that path of discovery with you and I'm so intrigued by that machine. Good for Lily too! What a find!
Glad you enjoyed it! So far loving it! Thanks for watching!
Does this test surface, or gold density?
I'm going to guess density as it knows when a piece is gold filled or plated vs gold. Thanks for watching.
@shadyny Thank you.
Would you recommend this gold tester?
I would. It is a good assist to the acid. Thanks for watching!!
@@shadyny awesome! Ordered

I completely agree. I had already done the magnet off screen. But great point to bring up. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks a lot Sweet Lily nice video

Thanks for the info! Well isn't that interesting. You are the best!!! Thank you again!!
Love the gold tester works so well xxxxx
I love it! Thanks for watching!
Great Job .. thank you very much
Thanks for watching!
Interesting so much easier than th acids
Oh I agree, I am not an acid fan, so this is great!
That's a great little gadget to have
I'm excited about it! Still learning but great so far!!
Very cool machine I really like it.
I love it! It will be a wonderful addition to our tools! Thank you for watching!
Great, it is a keeper..Nice piece Lily
It sure is! Thanks for watching my friend!!!!!
Does a loupe work better than a magnifying glass?
Yes the loupe is more powerful. So you can see more detail!
This is wonderful! Thank you so much❤❤❤
I wonder if this is a necklace or a belt? It would look nice on a beautiful black dress as a belt
@@laurarose6829 It could be. You would have to be tiny, I would think
I was thinking about it being a belt too. Especially with the Sheperd's Hook!
@@shadyny It very well could be❤ we have the best friends on here❤❤❤
@@tfinci We do! We are certainly very blessed!

Thank you for watching and sharing. I've certainly gotten use to the machine now. And I use it as a 2nd test to the acid. Have a great weekend!
Just curious...do you still love the kee gold tester? xo
Yes I still love it. I use the acid first and do pack up testing with the Kee Gold Tester. Thanks for watching!
if the jewel is gold plated outside but fake inside. Does it accurately detect it?
Plating will not test as a gold item. It will be in the red zone. Thanks for watching!
so im thinkinng about melting cpu processors for the gold in the pins , do u think i can use this to see its purity after i make a bar?
I would think so.
Boy, that was sure fun… and profitable! 💰. This tester costs less than a dollar-a-day for a year, and after that it’s free 😉
Great way of thinking about it! Thanks for watching!
Is it working good still? Any updates?
Still works great. I would suggest testing with yellow gold as someone told me to. Thanks for watching!!
So here for this! 😳❤️❤️❤️
I loved this gold tester! It even feels accurate in its readings. So exciting!❤️❤️❤️
Loving the machine! It is so quick! And I agree it does seem to be accurate!! Thanks for watching my friend!!

Certainly was hollow, not use to seeing Platinum with a gold wash, but it is from Hong Kong. Thanks for watching!
Wow 👌
I agree completely!!
Wow that is such a cool gadget! I might need to get one of those one day LOL Congrats on all of the gold! ❤
Thank you so much! Still loving the new machine! Thanks for watching!!
@@shadyny Of course! ❤
Very interesting video! What a fun new “toy”! I’m going to have to add this to my wish list! Congratulations to Lily!
Thank you 🤗 I know I was really happy with it!! Thanks for watching Deb!
Hello beautiful, I was wondering what is this little gadget called, where you can buy and the price, thank you 💚
I got it on Amazon. It is a really cool machine! Thanks for watching!
WOW! Who put that platinum chain in a Thred up box!!!?? Great video.
Crazy! I know! Thanks for watching!
The Kee tester is a keeper
I agree! Thanks for watching!!!
I like the tester….No acid to worry with….
And no scratching your pieces!
I love that part. And it is so fast too! Thanks for watching!
That is a great point Laura!
Here in the UK a lot of our gold is 9 carat, will this device distinguish 9ct or only go as low as 10 carat please?
It will work on the 9 carat, showing at the bottom of the scale. Thanks for watching!
what does the grey color stand for if the red color states that it not gold?
The gray when tested turns blue if Sterling and if disappears just silver tone. Thanks for watching!

Dónde puedo conseguir comprar el Kee Gold???
Amazon
If it say hongkong what does that mean? I have tons that say that and Japan?
Most of the time is means 1950s to 1970s but occasionally is can be older however after 1891. But certainly vintage! Thanks for watching!

That is not platinum it doesn’t make sense. Gold plating, a platinum necklace sorry to say just my opinion
Not Platinum at all. Since this was a new machine I was learning. Had professionally tested. Now I would know better. Thanks for watching.
