Hey, thanks for the support!! I am of course team astronomy, but I do really appreciate the value that astrology brings to a lot of people. I'm not saying that one is "right" and one is "wrong," but that it's important to know the difference between them and how each one contributes to society.

I enjoy both but for very different reasons. I love learning about the universe and how everything works, but I'm also a creative type and enjoy history, ficiton and mythology. Astrology isn't a science but that's fine - just like movies and novels aren't science but still have relevance.
Astrology is perhaps better understood as a kind of mythology - something that's notably lacking in modern society. Shared mythologies have long been an important aspect of life, in many cultures, as a way of creating a shared set of beliefs and lived experience, which helps a community form strong bonds. Religions largely took over that role for the last couple of centuries, but they're mostly in decline.
The reason astrology remains popular, especially with younger people, is because it helps create that sense of shared meaning while using familiar archetypes inspired by classical mythology. There's really no reason why astronomy and astrology should be in conflict, we just need a better understandng and awareness of their differences and value.

Well-said! I agree that both of them have a significant amount of value in today's society. And like you said, I think it's important for people to be aware of what makes the two of them different. Obviously, it's not a big deal at all for people not to know that there are differences/what the differences are. I honestly just enjoy learning in general, so this was a fun video to make because I had to do a little research on astrology so that I could be as accurate as possible. And I completely agree that astronomy and astrology should not be in conflict. They're two completely different things that happen to have similar looking/sounding names, and each of them have a place in society.

@@MorganAdair thanks and I'm glad you addressed the differences with objectivity and fairness, as there's still a tendency in the astronomical community to actively denounce and even ridicule astrology without really considering its potential value. I think there's a fear that permitting astrology will somehow adversely impact on astronomy, which is untrue, so continuing to highlight their differences along with their respective values is important.

@@JWM80 Totally agree. It's like comparing apples to oranges. They're just two completely separate things and each has it's own importance and values.
