We've seen many of these cases and what I don't understand is if you see them doing a bad job on Day 1, why would you not say anything? I had that issue with a painter and I had to stop the job on Day 1 and point out how sh!tty of a job they were doing.

They DID lift the tile up and removed the wet mortar but that is considered demolishing because it had to be redone. Some of the tiles were cut with a dull tile saw so they had to be replaced which cost more money.
The wet tile cement was a giveaway .He should of been payed for the demo work that's dirty dusty hard work and you have to cop some dust it's a easy clean.The outside walkway was a rort this lady knows all the scams I hope his son learns from this its a cheap lesson for a young fella👍👍

If I miss one payment without notifying you before hand, you have the right to demand the full one time payment of the remaining balance within the next two weeks.”

I want to say one thing to everyone here. When you own a company with other employees you don't have to be there. You can't be on more than one job installing at once. I do not agree with the Marilyn’s ruling here. I would have ruled in the plaintiffs favor, but not for that amount. She didn’t have to replace all the tiles, only a few that would have had poor cuts. The full tiles could clearly have be reused, given the witnesses testimony that the thin set was still wet so it could have and most likely was just scraped off the tiles. I would have awarded her $100, Seeing that she already received her money back, so she wasn’t out any money other than the cost to replace the tiles with the bad cuts.

The end amount judgement was to much...judge is weird sometimes, floppy flops.
No really. It almost all her cases she makes sure a contracted does get paid for the work they do (the judges father and brother are/were contractors).
In this case the defendant did a crappy job and ghosted her, costing the plaintiff money. I think the ruling was very fair. 99.9% of the time I guess the same award that JM gives. I understand her thinking.
