I picked up a Akai GX-625 today about 15 min away from where I live. Surprised the heck out of me to find it so close. Normally you can't find reel to reels within a 3 hour radius. It is mint and plays great out of the headphone jack but no sound out of the RCA Out. So it will make a trip to Bigg Matt whenever he has the time. I can play it because I have an adapter to run the rca into the headphone jack. I can’t complain. I only paid $300 for it.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hell Yeah!. These 707’s, and the RT-909 can never be beat. As of today these decks are still #1 here in the South Bronx. I now own 3 of them. Luv those colored reels! Keep up the good work. Can I purchase some colored reels for my 3 decks?, please let me know. Take care for now.
Can't tell how good the recording was because of the low volume. For a real test he needs to switch from tape to source monitor during recording to make a fair comparison.
Richard, that was one of my first videos I was doing trying to learn the OBS software. I apologize for not doing the tape and source so you can tell the difference but I was learning the software at the time also.
@@Hwords1 I own three different Akai tape decks and when recording I switch between source and tape to compare how faithful the recording is and whether the tape has dropouts.
I picked up my 707 last week, it's a terrific machine!
You will love that RT 707

That's the machine I have, but I have just one original tape reel, & it's silver. Yours is cleaner looking. Heavy. So 45 lbs is heavy?
Yes, they are very nice machines, hope you treat it right and pass it on to the next to enjoy.
My brother would like for me to pass it on to him someday I know that he would treat it right but right now I am going to enjoy it.

The recording sounds like in the toilet; a cheap cassette deck with 50$ sounds much better
