    you are incredibly good at explanations! i bet a sizable percentage of the people that go missing in national forests/parks were led astray by misinformation or incomplete information. i really appreciate the very complete explanations of these phenomena! explaining when it doesn't work is so important and i feel like hardly anyone does that for much of anything

      Thanks! Whenever I'm with my siblings, I always test them to see if they know where north is wherever we go haha. Spacial awareness is so important, and the more confident you feel in your environment, the further you're willing to push yourself

    The sun always rises in the west and sets in the east, unless your super far north or south. It’s the easiest way to simply look up, remember it’s morning, and know that the sun is in the west.

      bro the sun rises in the east.
      What does the idiom the sun rises in the west mean?
      Meaning: When people say this, they mean that they don't expect something to happen.

    So what im hearing is so long as your in the northern hemisphere there should be more moss on the northern side, if there is moss everywhere then its gunna point everywhere 🤣🤣

  • @Templarfreak
    @Templarfreak ปีที่แล้ว +1

    ok, im not finished with the video yet, but: one thing you can use to understand directions is that the sun more or less always rises in the east and sets in the west. it's a little off and varies by how much it's off based on the time of year, and it is by-far the most off if you are _very_ north or _very_ south of the equator. but, for the most part, on average, it's close enough to be reliable.

    I am always amused when I hear the tall tale that moss only grows on the north side of trees. Apparently, in the Pacific Northwest we have a lot of trees who think they live on the South Pole.😂
    I am curious how this video goes. (I only got 45 seconds in before I needed to make my comment, because I know he is going to give good information and I didn't want to forget my comment before I was distracted by some good good knowledge.)
