The way you described it in this video made it sound like there are bonsai professionals who do not own the trees, only work on them. who are these clients you refer to? Is it similar to, say, horse racing where a wealthy person owns a horse and a jockey actually rides it? Either way its fascinating

I do enjoy bonsai in general but im so bored with the classic styling. Its always giant twisted trunk, 5-9 pads and huge deadwood. This looks more like a sport with perfection than art.
Are you referring to Kimuras style? Yknow this is a relatively new development in Bonsai classically, historically, they didnt look like that. I don't think it's boring, you can't find trees that look like that with that foliage type anywhere else in the world.

I find it more fascinating that Messe = trade fair/exhibition in German, and here these Japanese call an exhibition centre "messe". 🤔
@Tiger313NL There are quite a lot of loanwords from Western languages; they are called gairaigo (外来語)
