Great video again guys. I really expected the Raindrops to be their next pedal release so this was a beautiful suprise. Very very fun and an experimental dream!! Ordered 🤩
This is how I see the future of effect pedals.... pedals that can talk to each other through CV. Alex asked for CV ideas...Let's dream the CV pedal board of the future. ...A) How about making an organic setup of pedals that interact with each other through multiple parameters, according to pick dynamics? B)With a small sequencer you can create DIY Slicer- like effects without being restricted to the fixed BOSS rythms. SO..maybe: Take a weird SL-20 SLICER motif recreate it and then change it to taste? C) The architecture of the actual pedalboard, how do you see its simplest shape in the future? ....Can it be a typical contemporary floor pedalboard plus a modular rack on its back? How can somebody practicaly do that? D) What are the effects that shine with the use of CV? Controllers! (Obviously) : LFO's, sequencers, expression pedals, envelope followers and generators...did I forget something? SO Lets explore control senarios like simultanious control (self explanatory, no?), serial control (to control the controller) e.g. EHX 8STEP a sequencer that can be controlled: How can we have super fun chaining a bunch of controllers that can be controlled? What effects really need to be controlled to shine? Pich shifters maybe? What else? ...I dunno...I'll have to think alittle.
Technically there's nothing stopping you from using a eurorack effect rack and controlling it with a midi controller 👀 Hexk you could use some Exper Sleeper modules and even tie in a DAW for live performances 👀
I would suggest that regarding suggestion D that showing how different controllers can interact by layering tracks. A beat with some reverb and delay, using a CV signal to control the chorus on a rhythm guitar track, then use that CV to control the fuzz on the lead. Then change the routing using a patchbay and play the same music but through the different routing. Also you could through in a CV mult to get some really cool synced up effects. Take a drum track through Dreadbox Nostalgia and Kinematic with CV going to rhythm guitar Disorder with the Disorder CV signal being doubled and sent to the lead's EHX 8Step and Dreadbox Komorebi. You could even show what happens at different tempos in relation to the CV signals being used. I would also check out Loopop's videos on CV use and guitar pedals. A pedal board with a modular rack could be done using something similar to the Arturia Rackbrute system. There are some 1U modular units that would work for simple routing and maybe adding some other interface possibilities such as MIDI, or Clock. with MIDI to CV modules out there you could use a MIDI controller somehow to change things up. Use something like the Roland FC-300 with a MIDI to CV and Expression Pedal to CV modules and the routing possibilities would be vast.
@@TSFAHTPS Thanks for the information. I checked it on their site and there was a very similar pedal with the same name. I think Epsilon was very similar with even more control.
I know you guys love your dreadbox pedals and have to say when you started this vid with everything at 12 o’clock all sounded great but then we started playing with the filter and we take a trip to wacky backy city 🫣. As always guys a great review of a pedal and for people wanting these kind of tones sure they will love it but personally is not for me.
Goddamn is this thing ever cool! Dreadbox always make unique stuff that sounds fantastic.
A Dreadbox of delight!🎸

Me too…I was very surprised when I got this pedal out of the box! Thanks Ewan
Awesome! Use that sound all the time hahaha...
Basically sorta updated version of EHX Tube Zipper. Loved this too!
I never tried the Tube Zipper...always wanted to but never did...gotta try and get one!!
@@TSFAHTPS it’s wiiiiiild, you’ll dig it!

Some great ideas there...thank you MYGAS21..I will look into those!!

@@SyntheticFuture Uhuh shure... I adore midi....the beatstep pro is at the head of my set up.... it controls with cv AND midi ....I use everything!

great demo
Thank you very much Stephen!!
@@TSFAHTPS thanks man, love from Scotland!
Nice demo guys. Conundrum: T-style guitar sounding like a Jaguar.. Seen or heard any?
2:47 thanks man! Although I do feel a bit awkward now...
Hahaha
Is this a remake of E older pedal ?
It’s a remake of an older Dreadbox pedal with the same name…I’m not sure what it’s based on?!?

This filter has both + and - movement, but can it do the Jew harp Sound? ...or is this something that only band pass filters can do?
