      Absolutely. I am American & I absolutely love and appreciate his music, and how it has shown the world how great African culture is. I hope that he remains authentic & not get too influenced by American pop.

      no that's not what i'm saying lol, Wizkid is the prince of Afrobeat, but don't get it twisted Fela is the King.

    • @thepresence2095
      @thepresence2095 7 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      You're wrong, this contemporary genre with its root from west Africa Nigeria and Ghana particularly, is a fusion of African sounds, Caribbean and Pop influences and its called "Afrobeats" different from Fela's sound which drew its influence from basically Jazz and highlife and is called "Afrobeat" without an "S".
      Times magazine particularly did an article about the two genres and titled it the "difference a letter makes". That's why it's stupid when Ghanaians struggle for musical glory with Nigeria with the claim that Nigerians are jacking their beats when the entire genre itself is a fusion of several beats.

    Man Wizkid is so lucky for having a supporting family who don't care too much about religion. When my grandad converted to christianity and married my grandma the local people in the ummah tried to kill him for becoming an apostate. It's encouraging to see such a warm message from Wizkid and really gives a lot of hope

Music transcends Language and it has no boundary or limitation as long as Music is the Everlasting Feeling expressed from the heart to the World in any form, style and it shouldn't be limited to this boundary called "Language and Race"

    In response to what Wiz said about the US just now catching up on African music, though I can’t argue with that, I had to comment on it.
    I say this humbly and I hope that I don’t come across as inappropriate but I’ve been successful in the promotion and spreading of African music in America since 2010 through national and online radio stations, DJ’s and other music promoters here in the States; including Wizkid’s music. The US wasn’t ready then, but that didn’t stop me. I was persistent because I knew in my heart that African music had major potential to take off mainstream. I was also committed to exposing underrepresented talent from African music artists, so I I launched my music promotion company knowing it would be a struggle to convince America to join the movement. 10 years later…. I’m proud. Finally!!!
    And I’m happy to hear that Wiz was raised in a healthy, loving family. That’s priceless. Good job to his parents!
    Last thing lol. Does Wiz really know women because he grew up with 7 sisters? I wanna ask him myself lol. J/k. I’m teasing. 😜

    protect this man at all costs! i did not know he has 7 sisters, woww! you can tell that plays a part in how he has an immense respect for women. You can tell just from how his videos are directed and viewed. Always showing women in a beautiful light and never in a degrading way. i appreciate that so much, you don’t even know! I also love how he wasn’t tired to one religion and how his parents made it ultimately up to him to decide. Religion should never dictate a household especially when there’s 2 different ones involved. Much respect to his parents for raising a wholesome handsome man ❤️❤️❤️

    I love wizkid so much, but watching this interview of him made me adore him, the age doesn't define the wiseness. Wizkid way young but also a wise man. Thank you for what you doing for the world expecially Africa, thank you for joy and happiness you provide to the world.Mr Ibrahim.

    He's so right. Africa surely is the craddle of music. Music in Africa is so soulful and profound. I believe the best music in the world is found in Africa. I invite all to listen to the diversified and profound music of Africa. Africa is the roots. If Africa was as powerful economically, its amazing music would be known worldwide and take over. God bless Africa.
