Great looking chicken coop. That door is pretty sweet too.

We have one of these and it works quite well. It does have a design flaw. If you look at the bottom of the door, you will see two plastic strips that form a channel that the bottom of the door on each side rides in. The problem is that if any of your flock kicks bedding in the track, it will stop the doors from closing and the unit, after three attempts, will not try to close the door leaving it open. Unfortunately, there is no light or sound warning that the door was unable to close. The only way to make sure is to check the door each night. It is unfortunate because otherwise it is a great unit.

Is there a shopping website for automatic doors? or what is its name in the market?

Hey Slow, could you give your feed breakdown/strategies on this in a video or answer here? I would really appreciate it!

Sure, I use a 5-gallon bucket modified into a bulk feeder. PVC elbow joints angled downwards via holes in the side of the bucket allow the birds to eat but minimize spillage. I can put together a video soon to help illustrate 👍
As for the feed itself, it's a local 16% organic layer mash the hens are on now, supplemented with table and garden scraps plus a bit of free ranging.

Thanks so much for checking it out! I was going to ask if you are getting chickens, but looks like you maybe have your hands full this year with little ones! They are great with kids 😁
Checked out your channel and subbed!

@@Slowsteading thanks. We don't post as much as we used to but we're going to get back into it. Actually we are getting chickens. They should be in this week or next week.

No going frugal with these chicken doors, all these chicken doors are pricey, I went with chicken guard extreme, I'm going with a external power source, After huricane Maria, I swore I would never buy regular single use batteries ever again. Rechargeable or bust.

Definitely, these things aren't cheap. Thankfully Chickcozy hooked me up 😁 This door supports both battery or external power adapter. 👌
