  • For those that have asked for a cigar video in the past, I have finally listened - today I bring to you a different type of luxury that I've been enjoying lately, and that is smoking cigars.
It's an unconventional hobby for sure, especially for women, so I thought I'd share the reasons why I've picked this up on this channel, and share my growing cigar collection post-Cuba trip while I'm at it!

The cigar community needs more stuff like this. A nice classy lady that is not ashamed to say she enjoys cigars. It's good for the community in general, but it also helps lift some of the stigma around the cigar world. People just seem to trust a woman more when it comes to health related topics. Great video👍!

I had my first cigar on my 18th birthday, it’ll be 4 years I started partaking in the hobby in January, I then also started pipes in that same year in March which is the same as cigars just different mechanics. I love it, it’s better than alcohol since it doesn’t impair judgment & no hangover. Even the FDA admitted that having just a cigar per day they say “while not completely safe, is neither associated with significantly increased risks for death from all causes, nor smoking-related cancers” but nothing is safe, we take risks every single day that are far more dangerous than a cigar or a pipe per day like driving or crossing the street.

Absolutely brilliant general review on & about cigars. I've only been smoking cigars for a year now. I would highly recommend going to Davidoff of London if you can. I was also very lucky to meet & chat to Eddie, son of Edward Sahakian (owner since late 70s early 80s.
Looks like your humidor is spot on at 69. Eddie suggests high 60s is perfect, not too dry nor too damp. I look forward to viewing your other cigar reviews .

Regarding those awful 'health' stickers... Take a hairdryer and slowly warm up a corner of the sticker - after some moments the glue will start to melt - peel a corner and carry on warming the sticker with the hair dryer. Start to peel the sticker, warming as you go and if you do it right it will come straight off! Use rubbing alcohol to remove any fine residue.
    Good luck.

I don't understand why in the west, cigars are marketed towards men, when women look just as cool smoking them. I love it when I see the rare female cigar afficionado, I feel like it's one of the few hobbies both sexes could geek out on together. you should show your collection

The 18th president of the United States of America Ulysses S. Grant died from throat cancer. But he smoked 10 cigars in one day and was also a heavy alcoholic drinker which may have added to his health problems he was around 60 years old I think and back in the 1800s that was considered a pretty old age.

    • @mclaine33
      @mclaine33 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

10 cigars per day is crazy and alcoholic = not good. To live to 60 back then was pretty good.

@@mclaine33 Nope it’s not good but he was the general of the civil war too I can’t imagine how much stress he went through. So I don’t blame him for drinking and smoking a lot.

I'm thinking of quitting cigarettes, but i do enjoy smoking. Also when did you have your first cigar? .... Thanks again for yet another great piece of content.

I like that you nerd out on this stuff, especially since you're not a typical representative of the demographic. It reminds me of what it was like for me when I started out. If you keep this interest, soon you're gonna need more storage as you'll probably get into aging and such, at least for the habanos.
I noticed that you're pretty focused on the cigar's ties to imagery of opulence, and if that's your jam I'm not about to get on your case for it. I totally agree with you that the finer things in life are worth having. Personally I don't consider the status and wealth itself to be among those things, so the question then becomes; is opulence necessarily a gateway to premium cigars? Humour me briefly if you will:
Cigars aren't really _that_ expensive when you think about it. Especially not when you consider how much goes into making them and how relatively little there is of the best raw product in the world. If you don't smoke them habitually (which I'd argue you shouldn't) you can easily do that hobby actively and spend let's say 20-40 Euro pr. week, something most adults in the western world can afford I think. It's not that different from drinking a good bottle of wine on the weekend. I'm not made of money by any stretch, but still I have a sizable cigar collection.
So when you see imagery of a guy in a tux next to a Ferrari smoking a cigar, while the Ferrari might be out of reach, the cigar is not. The point I'm trying to make is that people have this notion that the two go together, but this is mostly just an idea. In praxis, it holds no more truth than it would with the bottle of wine.
If that perspective put a dampener on your attraction to cigars, I apologize :D Thanks for a cool, and for me, unusual watch.

Hi again, quick question. Was this particular video flagged or did it breach youtube guidelines. As I'm compiling a vlog and there a glimpses of me lighting, smoking and cutting said cigar. I don't want to get any community guideline strikes essentially.

  • @scrappydude1

The health risks of this, or anything, are very very much based on the individual. And even then I’m convinced that in some respects, very overrated. Samuel Clemens, otherwise known as Mark Twain, smoked 40 cigars a day. He lived to be 87 at a time when the average man lived to be perhaps 62. He once famously opined that “I promise to never smoke while sleeping, and to never not smoke while not sleeping”. Lol. George Burns smoked 20-30 a day and lived to be 100.
Anyway, great video by a beautiful and well informed lady! Perhaps you could put together a video sampling various cigars and explaining the differences, flavors, etc. could be very informative.

Why would smoking cigars not be suitable for women? Instead I find it for the fairer sex a demonstration of strength character class and why not sensuality.
