Why not cut the barrels straight down so the the short dart fit in nice ? Im currently doing a paint of this blaster and your teardown helped me thanks 👍
Brass would be just as easy as any other blaster. Possibly easier as the AR system is not solvent welded. Spring? Not sure as spring stop is only held in place with plastic push tabs. Having said that I think you could put screws in to hols it.
Same energy in a smaller means they do fly faster and therefore farther. Also means you have more options for return fire (from scavenged darts) and you can carry more. Short darts are more durable. Also, it was an interesting exercise in to what you could do with the alpha strike line.

You can get the plunger rod out quite easily, there are tabs on the back, but I think the head is a push fit one so it won't come off without damage. You should be able to remove the spring round the rod but I've not done it. Have a look at capt Xavier's 'can it take a K26' series, im sure hes done a few with fixed heads.

Probably easier to mod.
May not take too much of a spring upgrade without reinforcement to the spring stopper though.
it isnt harder to mod i think, it was the first blaster i modded. or i modded the claw but the claw is a reskin
Nice job. I think these are going to be great for kids to make their first simple mods. Cheap and little to no tools required.

You can mod a jolt by drilling a hole in the air compression chamber and break the plastic stick off in the barrel to fire short darts
I just modded the Claw QS4 to fit half darts.. It is the samething except the grip is smooth and not skeletonized.

I did think about cutting the barrels down but for this mod I wanted to keep it simple.
Oh ok that's fair and i just removed all the air restrictors so i could make a shotgun style pistol and it works pretty good and its very simple 👍

I just popped the two sides out over the lugs and pulled it up off the top.
Its fairly flexible so didn't break.
To be honest I really thought it would be mod proof but I didn't think you would actually do it
Its easier to lightly mod it than a regular blaster as there are no srews and no glue.
