    This is exactly what happened to me 10 years ago. At the time I had to do my own research on the internet and trust my basic knowledge and intuition, for I had no access to a naturopath in argentina. At the end, with a very generous remote diagnosis and prescription from a brazilian homeopath (he did it based on my symptoms and charged me 0$) and a natural progesterone cream my mom bougth for me in brazil I was able to get my periods back and ovulate again and get pregnant (pregnancy I was looking for! 😂) in less than three months. The process was stressful because six months after dropping the pill my periods stopped for a 100 days, so after a series of blood tests I was diagnosed with Pcos and a statement: “it’s going to be very hard for you to get pregnant”. I left the clinic crying. So, I am genuinely grateful to professionals like you, Lara, that put some light where we are so used to have darkness. THANK YOU. 💚

    Thank you for your videos Lara !
    I have both of your books and I’ve fully read one and have read chapters of the other
    I’m starting to think I may be hyperinsulanemic
    Blood sugars and HBA1c all within normal range but weight around middle and upper arms and thighs and fluid retention
    I have started taking zinc and Berberine and a multi methylated b vit that had 100mg of inositol
    Havnt quit the dairy and am now 3 weeks on keto
    Definitely have lost weight but my last cycle was really painful probably because of the amount of dairy ….
    I don’t want to do keto forever ofcoarse but I think it will lowere insulin?
    My gp is great and has just ordered bloods for Dheas and others
    But not insulin
    I’ve never had insulin tested it’s just not something they ever test for
    Im wondering if this could have been triggered by me taking the Moro after pill a couple of years ago ? I bled for 24 days after and mental health went pretty bad throughout all this weight gain
    Can MAP do that ?
    Thanks again for your knowledge Lara 🙏

    Topical anti-androgen cream is available too, it's not systemic like spironolactone but it can reduce DHT binding to your skin's androgen receptors at the problem areas (chin, jawline, upper neck)

    I got off the Nuvaring three years ago and was gaining weight slowly, this past year the most weight gain and horrible anxiety + depression. I just started back on the generic version of Nuvaring because I am so tired of the symptoms. I have taken the dutch test twice and have classic PCOS markers. I am nervous about taking the Eluryng and being 41 with blood clots. Do you think this is the wrong move or should I be taking something like Spironolactone for excess androgens, is that safer?

    You stated to avoid dairy, so does that include yogurt? I eat it for the prebiotics

      I’m going through the same thing and it’s very discouraging but I’d rather not go back on the pill. I do want to eventually have kids. I’m going to consult with a doctor and see what specifically is going on and what I can do to help my body get back to normal.

      @@emilyantiqua I tried several supplements, I don't even remember how many I took anymore. Zinc, pantothenic acid, lysine, probiotics, etc. LASER, acids.... In the end, I think it was time that had the effect.

      @@lilikiedis that’s so frustrating. I stopped spiro (similar to yaz) in April and I’m getting more acne, plus terrible hirsutism and hair loss that I didn’t have before. Hopefully mine will go away with time too!

    Could stopping spironolactone also cause these symptoms? I’m experiencing all these for sure.

    • @LaraBriden
      @LaraBriden  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes. Spironolactone is essentially the same drug as drospirenone, so stopping it can cause a rebound surge in androgens.

      @@emilyantiqua There is anti-androgen cream now (winlevi or topical spironolactone) which isn't systemic like spironolactone is, but localized to the area you apply it.

    The progestin pills such as levonorgestrel can also cause post pill adrogen surges?

      @BrokennessAndBeauty ปีที่แล้ว

      Because levonorgestrel has caused me extreme hirutism
