The City of Freedom where WWII started and the Solidarity Movement that had led to the fall of communism was born. Turned into a pile of smoking ruins during WWII (85% of buildings were destroyed) painstakingly rebuilt now is shining more than ever. Definitely one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. It's a must for every tourist visiting Poland!
Thank you! Always interesting to hear some more background as it's surely interesting to the people watching this walk. Many years ago I also walked around the Gdansk shipyard where Solidarność started. Lots of history in Gdansk for sure.
Thank you. I was born in Gdansk, then emigrated as a little kid when comunists were weakening, but still in power. Gdansk will always be my city and I am proud of it and how’s raising from so much battering.
Right now they are on the list for summer if I manage to get back to Poland from Ukraine. I've been to Lódź before and several people recommended Toruń. Should be possible once I get back to Warsaw.
@@horror6962 kilka miesięcy temu odwiedziłem Gdańsk (pierwszy raz) - przepiękne miasto. Udało się mi coś nagrać, zapraszam na mój kanał. Byłem też w Bydgoszczy i te miasta właśnie przypominają mi Anglię.

For sure - but Zakopane is near Krakow. I was hiking there a long time ago at the end of the summer. Beautiful area and hope to get back sometime soon. A nice day trip from Gdansk is Sopot - also numerous times on the channel here
I will see that I go to Torun either from Warsaw or Poznan direction, also Bydgoszcz for completion. I'm quite often in Poznan and during summer even in Sopot so maybe it fits in my schedule around June/July
Interesting. I wasn't aware of that concentration camp. Though I walked around in Auschwitz for hours once and that left an impression... In general I seem to have visited most Polish cities. Just Olsztyn, Zakopane and maybe Elblag and Jelenia Goria remain. I've been to several places without filming, yet am open to recommendations for notable places for these walk-throughs
Danzig, wo ist nur dein schönes edles Gesicht geblieben, du alte standfeste deutsche Stadt über viele Jahrhunderte. (bis 1945) NEC TEMERE - NEC TIMIDE(ein alter deutscher Spruch der Danziger)
Try to learn some REAL history, not German and fascist legends, dude. Gdańsk is very old Polish city, in fact it happened to belong to Germany for pretty short time in XIXc. - only by brutal conquest as a result of Partitions of Poland (and only to 1918, BTW).

What a beautiful city.
Moj piękny Gdańsk jestem Polakiem ze Śląska

Imagine the whole city is one giant hive of douchebags and assholes : I was born there !
Every year l'm here on vacation. Revelation from the baltic
Nice! I also walked around in nearby Sopot that day which you may also know. I'll put the Sopot video online sometime soon

The best and nicest part of what is shown in the video about the city: the main street seen from 01:15 to 08:20 and also from 41:00 to 44:00.
Enjoy watching your video (didn't get vertigo). Thanks. Would be great if there were captions for major landmarks
Jestem bardzo zadowolona ❤
Very thankful for the long one hour walk, in one of the beautiful city
City is incredible.
Gdanks was often on my routes. Here are a few more videos: th-cam.com/users/results?search_query=poptravel+gdansk

Take a two hour bus ride to Zakopane and see the beauty of Carpathian Mountains.

Am I the only one who hears Novigrad Market music from TW3 here?
