Just saw them last night. Best show I'll ever watch in my life. Theres nobody better than these guys. They gave me a whole new outlook on music being a bassist/guitarist. Got to meet Bryan and Guthrie as well. Cool thing about them is... They're just like any normal dudes. Super friendly. Thank you Aristocrats for being the most phenomenal group of musicians to walk on this Earth.
Hi Matey, glad Im not the only one who met them (as comment above) and yes they are all lovely blokes, especially Guthrie who is the most generous mild mannered guy in music, not a shred of ego in the man and he gives so much back to other guitarists - his musicality stands out like a beacon in a sea of tuneless shredders... as per comment on Bryan's playing of the excellent Living the Dream (see th-cam.com/video/AYxH_zD25qU/w-d-xo.html) they are all great composers who write to challenge each other for the sh*ts and Giggles of it. Looking forward to hearing the stories of the new sonds on "You Know What..." They should be touring Eurpoe at the end of this year... see you there guys and girls
***** Hello there! Despite being my favorite band, I'd have to agree that Alex in 1997 ( at Guthrie's current age of 43) would've struggled to play this song; or all of Erotic Cakes for that matter. When they were in their late-20's playing prime, Geddy and Neil would've come close to matching Bryan's and Marco's parts. Even when 25-year's old ( Hemispheres/Permanent Waves era), Alex's most frenetic leads were nothing like Guthrie's... That said, IMHO I still hold Alex as rock's most passionate lead guitarist. Peace and Rock on..
Lifeson Fan You can't beatba bit of Rush. They'll probably always be the best trio in rock, and arguably the best rock band ever. And even more arguably the best prog rock band ever
Lifeson Fan But, yeah, Alex was and will never be on Guthrie's level. He is a rock guitar great, though. Listen to guys like John Petrucci espouse of his genius
These guys are insane, but I think all of them played with Satriani at some point, and I would assume together. I don't believe they were strangers. That said, I enjoy this much more than anything I have ever heard from Satriani.
Had the pleasure of seeing these incredible musicians live twice in 2014. Once in a medium sized venue and once in a tent in a field in Somerset... :) Both shows, totally amazing.
Bryan is a genius. Look up his speech he gave to the Berklee students, it's a hour but well worth it! dude had short hair and wore a tie and was in charge of international sales for Fender and the CEO of SUN amplification if I remember correct. the best "musician" in the band imo.
I'ts amazing to see the way they have so much fun playing together... there's the beauty of making music and sharing it....besides they, playing like a gods makes this even more insane...
Luna Minnkandi You absolutely nailed it. :) You could have the most talented musicians in the world, but if they didn't have any natural chemistry, and didn't enjoy making music together, all of that talent wouldn't mean a thing. Thankfully these guys are the whole package. :)
These boys r gifted. Cant think of any won more talented. May be Rush in their hay day in the 70's, or Liquid Tension Experiment on the heavier side...but from a fusion perspective?..these boys win...hands down...every time...
these guys are coming in concert locally in 3 weeks, gotta see! Big GG fan, total monster Jazz/Rock/Alternative guitarist. The real deal! Psyched to see!
Best band I never heard before this year! Sure it's only Jan. 4, but I generally only say that once or twice a year. 2020 is off to an awesome start! Thanks for posting!
Dude where are you and what kind of fan are you ??????????????????? Kolkata, Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi on September 12th, 14th, 16th and 18th respectively.
YES meets Frank Zappa!?? But this stuff is so much more organic, like raw mushrooms a single stand of grass and some sweet berries all in the same mouthful! What volcanic steam vent did you guys pop out of anyways? I want more. Subscribed!

This and living the dream ar the duck King best UNTIL YOU KNIW WHAT DRops ! Best band ever
+PairInstabilityType Ahh right…. that is just a nice little touch he does as an alternative to bending the strings, same effect different sound, less stress on the strings so comes out less strained and much more pleasant to the ear.
Wow!!! Wish they spent a little more time on Guthrie, switches views a little bit too quickly/much. I'd be happy with more of the whole band view. Sound is AWESOME, though :)
The fact that all their names are alliterative is very pleasing.
+harry brown If Marco's name was Darco Dinnemann the world would've imploded
"Guthrie Govan - guitar
Bryan Beller - bass
Darco Dinnemann - drums"
.
LOL... Darco is a cool name tho. I'll save it for my future kids :D
harry brown He should play the mellotron.
GBD G Major triad haha
Hugo Kleinhans Marco Minnemann - Membranophones)
That bass tone is freaking dope.
Yeah right ! Guthrie said dude Give it Hell
I'm always so damn impressed and happy to see bands that sound better live than in studio, freaking amazing.
Amen to that brother
Although their studio versions are killer as well
@@paulfrantzis1 Their studio versions are recorded live!
@@aleix4713 I did not know that, they sound like studio quantity
You should see them in concert if you ever have the chance. They put on an incredible show!

Agreed, but Rush fans might have some words for you....
***** But Rush members on a musicianship par with these guys? C'mon...

damn I actually like the sound of this more than the previous dvd.
instant buy
Being a musician is not only play the best you can but also let others sound good and interact with an open mind and soul..;)
Marco and Brian are telepathic. You'd think they'd played together for decades.
These guys are insane, but I think all of them played with Satriani at some point, and I would assume together. I don't believe they were strangers. That said, I enjoy this much more than anything I have ever heard from Satriani.
OMG I could watch this another 5000 times and not get bored with it ....

Not only the performance is incredible , each player has their sound dialed in . Fantastic
