- A60 Metropolitan line stock now in it's last few months of service built by Cravens of Sheffield between 1960 and 63. Starting at Finchley road where the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines emerge from tunnels under central London. I made my way along to Uxbridge (20:53) stopping off at Rayners Lane (8:25) and Eastcote (13:40) all lovely examples of 1930s design by Charles Holden. I hope I capture the sights and sounds of these very long serving trains. Also seen, the A60's new replacements the Derby built S Stock along side Jubilee and Piccadilly line . Filmed on a Panasonic SD900, edited on Sony Vegas HD 11 Platinum. The camera's built in mic is covered with a Windcutter. Availabe from USA based company thewindcutter.com. Post free to the UK. Worth every penny and loads more to eliminate dreaded wind noise from built in camera mics
Miss the A stock, one of the original soldiers that did both the East London and Metropolitan lines.
As much as I admire the new, I doubt it will last anywhere near as long as the old stock, older things were designed to last, and look at them, still serving well til the bitter end
It was better all round back then, less traffic, safer, less racial 'tensions', the 80s were the best decade imho.
This does take me back. I hadn't been on these for over ten years. Shame they're gone.
That's normal for the underground....cables everywhere
metropolitana da sogno noi in italia non la porteranno mai cosi bella
Thank you for this nostalgic video. I was trying to remember if the old Met Line had onboard announcements - and I think the video is confirming that they didn't, unless I'm wrong?
Uhm, how did I get here from Rush hour movies????
The compressor :)

That's normal and is all to do with the platform being built when older / different stock was in use. There's a few stations where the platform is HIGHER than the door - Wembley Central I think being one....
Excellent video. It captures the atmosphere, stations and traction very well. Great job.
Great video, i might be coming to london this august the 8th wednesday. I really hope i doo:D
Why are all the cables exposed without coverings on the tunnel walls?
Metropolitian line at finchley road they have northern or jubilee
I Like the C STOCK
That is another superb video - your camerawork and editing are beautiful! How do you manage to film so inconspicuously? Nobody ever looks into the camera! A great piece of work :)
Very nicely done and excellent background information. Thanks,
Why is the train platform lower than the train?
Good video I love it
S STOCK AT EALING BROADWAY AND RICHMOND.

Excellent. Very professional.
good stuff there, well done
excellent work , thanks
Nicely done!
needs some paint on it
A valuable record. It's surprising how much we take for granted when travelling around London.
IKR :)
That was really cool! Thanks!
I'm curious though. The name on the reader board on the front of the train......is that the next station? Or the name of the station at the end of the line in that particular direction?
Found my own answer......"The front of the train and the platform indicator show the train's final stop - often the last station on the line."
