Nice video. I also stay in Netherlands and I can suggest 2 things.you can reduce the temp of boiler to 55-60 degree as sometime it's set to more than 70 degree and also change the setting to ON Demand heating for hot water instead of continuous usage of boiler to keep water warm. With this it will take 5-7 seconds more for warm water from the tap as compared to instant hot water. You will save a lot.

My overall expense gone up by 10% but I earn in dollars so that offsets it.Also it was around 50K previously. Now it might be around 60K . But we are foodie and spend about 15K-20K in eating out. Still under 1 Lakh living more lavish life than Europe :D . Glad I made right move and came back on time.

Thank you for your video and information - Same here in Chicago, USA. In last few months food prices have gone up 15% to 25% on almost every food and non food related item. A simple donut price increase from $1.00 to $2.00 overnight. Good thing is that donut is not a necessity. I hope this worldwide high inflation cycle ends soon.

Excellent delivery and approach, really nice tips, and I am sure it will help a lot of folks better handle the price rise.
Also, I believe having an energy efficient house plays a key role in tackling energy waste & consumption. Few examples:
    - We don't have gas - neither for cooking, nor for heating / hot water, so zero charges there. Additionally the electricity supplied by the provider is 100% from wind farms, so gas prices have immaterial impact on my electricity bill.
    - We just started using heat since 2 days, 17th Nov, because the apartment was always at or above 22°C - heat retention from insulation and heatpumps. We personally usually keep the setting at 21.5°C since my partner always stays a bit cold. But it is stadsverwarming and the same is used for hot water in shower, for laundry and dishwasher.
    - Our combined electricity and heating bill (district heating) is €80 monthly averaged from yearly consumption for a 1bhk apartment for a couple in Amsterdam, and after the energierekening korting in Nov & Dec - this cost will reduce to an effective rate of ~ €48 pm; €580,0 yearly. Also, I will still receive some refund. However, I know few people who have this amount (~500) as their monthly bill because of the dependencies on gas.
    - Another impactful one is getting a smart meter for electricity - we run our washer, dryer, vaccums over the weekend benefitting from off-peak laag tarief. Similarily dishwasher, robot runs/charges overnight at off-peak rates. Our consumption reading on the meter is almost twice for laag tarief compared to hoog tarief, so some savings there.
We primarily see the effects in groceries, eating out and travel. Of course next year's costs will be higher when the financial year starts with cost spikes similar to the 2023 health insurance.
And ofcourse the above points might not be applicable to everyone, but folks I would also recommend not to get a gas fireplace like my friend few months back :D

Yes Megha every where it's happening the same. I don't know how you manage savings. I got a doubt, When everything goes for traveling how you will save megha. From youtube you won't get 10% of your both travel expanses. You don't have children, when life not yet started to spend expenditure for children, till that you both can manage. Once children will come half of the expanses go for them. And Children with travel is not so easy. Till that cover and share as many destinations as possible for both side memories of a traveller and a viewer. Good going 👍. Bhaskar CEO

EU has the most restrictive immigration policy, especially Austria. So unless you are dating an Austrian chick n your future father-in-law agrees to sponsor your visa, think of something else. btw I migrated to Luxembourg coz my sasur spondered my visa (online larki patai and uske baap ne majboori main mujhe sponder kiya ). A relevant and pertinent question how to combat soaring inflation at present context. Since how long austerity will help you? It's nice the people who are facing and trying to combat with different actions will definitely help a little bit. But compromising spendings/ Consumptions the economy will lead to recession, unemployment and hardships to the people. In India there's inflation but not that much acute as in Europe., people are cautious and taking different measures also. In this context the world leadership should use diplomacy, dialogue to stop the present war and the race of absolute super power, Unipolar world.

    In San Antonio, TX USA
Electricity and gas prices went up from $120 to $300
Water went up by 50% as we are in very bad drought
Rents increased from $1400 to $1800 for 2bed 2 bath
Internet $65 from past many yrs
Auto, home and special insurances are increased by 30% while health insurance is around $400/month
Gas per gallon went up from $2 to $4 and now it is around $3.
We Indians do lot of domestic and India travel and that spending for family is around 20K/yr
Salary increased by 1% so all these costs are eating into savings.
Mortgage went up from 3% to 7.5% to address this inflation.
And lot of Indians who invested in technical companies like TWLO lost good amount of savings.

Shopping at supermarket like Esselunga has increased the monthly expense by 200 or 300 euros (of only groceries for two people) in Piacenza, which is 70km from Milano; the regional travel tickets have taken the blow too; Gas prices will be the worst hit and the billing systems will change for the worse, so it seems from the news. Yet to see the proof in numbers.
