      He reminds me of my uncle. Well spoken in a very gentle manner that allows for the cultivation to allow for the understandings that he’s discovering. The zinc three-finger transcription factor is a deeper revealing of him understanding it enough to be able to kinda point in a certain direction. The knowledge that he’s shown to me through these videos has been transformational in my overall understanding and thus approach. A gentle giant is what I see, like the jolly green giant they used to have on TV commercials. Only Harley is a welcoming cornucopia of knowledge attained through experiential learning via his inquisitive mind. He is part of the 2 experts who I’ll listen to for the crucial information. Him and Bruce Bugbee are both cutting edge horticultural research scientists in my book, for all intents and purposes.

    "Micro" ~ not Macro
    11:04
    Potassium for ethylene production. It helps ripen the finishing fruit.
    13:44
    Phosphorus Toxicity shows as Zinc Deficiency ~ Zinc is immobile.. Therefore, the New growth - aka the Top growth will show necrosis and chlorosis. Potassium Silicate, S.O.P. (Sulphate of Potash - also a high source of Ca too)... or even to a lesser extent, ground up banana peels are good K sources
    16:22
    Chelation Agents are also found in MKP and generally most high salt content nutes eg: Bloom Boosters. They usually contribute to high TDS ratios. Which is measured relatively the same way as Brix - but with different refractometer methods and results.
    17:39
    Magnesium can be found in high amounts with either Epsom... or Molasses, which has a high Phosphorus content. ~Which leads to 18:50 ~ SSP or TSP (Single Super Phosphate or Triple Super Phosphate) have very high amounts of Sulphur.
    22:08
    Silica is very high in Diatomaceous Earth, and very organically high in bamboo mulch. It strengthens cell walls. Builds immune system just like Frass

      @freedom_born - Wow, thank you for this incredibly detailed and thoughtful input! You've clearly put a lot of care into this, and we appreciate the depth of your knowledge. 🌱
      2:24: You're absolutely right-good catch on 'Micro' versus 'Macro.' It's small details like these that make a big difference in understanding nutrient management.
      11:04: Excellent clarification on potassium's role in ethylene production for ripening-an essential point for growers aiming for high-quality fruit production.
      13:44: The link between phosphorus toxicity and zinc deficiency is a great observation! Highlighting that new growth shows these symptoms is incredibly valuable for troubleshooting nutrient imbalances. And those K sources you mentioned are practical and accessible-ground banana peels are a fantastic tip for organic gardeners!
      16:22: Your insight into chelation agents and their impact on TDS and Brix readings is a solid reminder for precision nutrient formulation.
      17:39 & 18:50: Epsom salt and molasses for magnesium, and the note on SSP/TSP containing sulfur, are great resources for growers. Thanks for bringing this up-those are versatile options!
      22:08: Bamboo mulch and diatomaceous earth for silica? That’s a brilliant addition! Silica's role in strengthening cell walls and boosting plant immunity can't be overstated.
      We love how you're adding to the discussion and expanding on these concepts. Thanks for sharing your expertise and helping others level up their growing game! 🌿 Keep the insights coming-this kind of dialogue is what makes the community thrive!

    Hi Harley im Indonesian and i work for the government and right here we have special program to strengthen our food security. you are my best teacher but could you please apply all your teachings in real farming and make videos? One of your teaching that i love the most is " Amino acid and calcium " we really wanna see how the plants that loaded with high calsium prevent pests and disease . Honestly its been 5 years it is in my head but when it came in real farming ive been tryin this method for 5 years but i still see a lot of pest and disease. 🙏 Warm whises : Frank

      @BlackNinja-w8p - Thank you for your heartfelt comment, Frank! 🌱 It's incredible to hear about the vital work you're doing in Indonesia to strengthen food security-your dedication is inspiring. 🙌
      Regarding your experience with amino acids and calcium, you're absolutely right that these are powerful tools for building stronger plants with thicker cell walls and increased resistance to pests and diseases. However, in real-world farming, their effectiveness can depend on several factors:
      1️⃣ Calcium Uptake Efficiency: Ensure your soil or hydroponic system has the right pH range for calcium absorption (around 6.0-6.5). Without proper pH, even high calcium levels won't be fully utilized by the plants.
      2️⃣ Balanced Nutrition: While calcium is crucial, it's part of a bigger picture. A full-spectrum nutrient program with trace elements (like zinc, copper, and manganese) and optimized nitrogen-to-potassium ratios is key for supporting plant immunity.
      3️⃣ Environmental Conditions: High calcium levels can only do so much if plants face extreme stress from temperature fluctuations, humidity, or poor air circulation. Addressing these factors alongside nutrition creates a more holistic defense.
      4️⃣ Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Sometimes, even the healthiest plants need additional support. Combining calcium and amino acids with biological pest control methods or beneficial microbes can enhance protection.
      We love your suggestion about creating videos that showcase these teachings in action on real farms-this is a fantastic idea we’ll keep in mind for the future. Keep experimenting and refining your approach; it’s growers like you who are leading the way in sustainable agriculture. Warm wishes to you and your team in Indonesia! 🌾✨

    When using RAW NPK nutrients, should the water be plain RO water? FWWF or FWF, etc. Or should I always ad Calmag when growing in coco?

    • @KALIX-NPK
      @KALIX-NPK  หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Great question! When using RAW NPK nutrients, the water quality and additional supplements depend on your growing medium and plant needs:
      RO Water vs. CalMag: RO (Reverse Osmosis) water is very pure but lacks minerals like calcium and magnesium, which are critical for plant health. If you're growing in coco, you should add CalMag to avoid deficiencies, as coco tends to bind calcium and magnesium, making them less available to plants.
      FWWF/FWF: These feeding schedules (Feed-Water-Water-Feed or Feed-Water-Feed) depend on your nutrient concentration and plant requirements. With RAW NPK nutrients, start with a light feeding schedule, monitor plant health, and adjust accordingly. Always check the EC/ppm of your water after mixing to ensure it's within the ideal range.
      For coco specifically, CalMag is often added first to the water before any other nutrients to ensure proper absorption. Happy growing, and let us know how it goes! 🌱

      @@KALIX-NPK can you use the raw potassium as a foliar spray. I'm having a rough time with my tumeric plants, and I think it's potassium deficient.

  • @sudarmiadi4496
    @sudarmiadi4496 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Can you make it clear that the potassium are competing with the calcium uptake in most cases potassium outcompetes the Ca uptake, and in the plant system it will suppress the Ca flows to the new growth including pods development

    • @KALIX-NPK
      @KALIX-NPK  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @sudarmiadi4496 - Great point, and you're absolutely correct! Potassium and calcium often compete for uptake in the plant's vascular system, especially in environments where potassium levels are high. This competition can indeed suppress calcium transport, leading to deficiencies in new growth and pod development.
      It's a critical balance for growers to manage. Too much potassium can inhibit calcium's role in building strong cell walls, which impacts everything from structural integrity to fruit quality. Monitoring and balancing nutrient ratios-particularly in the root zone-is key to ensuring both K and Ca are available in appropriate amounts for optimal growth.
      Thanks for raising this important topic-it’s an essential consideration for precision nutrient management! 🌿

      @KALIX-NPK i grew cilli plants on the small scale land, its open field, and the soil is dominated by the heavy clay, I listen to Dr. Said Khan about the K Paradox, he stated that the clay is the perfect warehouse for K, so whenever our roots reach the clay layer we get free K, and K is ridiculously soluble both in soil and plants with just water, he also said that K can be leach out of plant tissue during heavy rain and it will put the K onto top soil again thats the cycle of K.
      Back to my chilli plants, they are suffered the BER during the extream heat season lately, the humidity are low the air temp reach up to 37⁰C, it got vertigation system installed, I also put some gypsum there, also foliar spray of Amino acid & Calcium, but nothing make any difference. Is because the air temp, low humidity, low soil moisture, that leads to increased soil PH, that couz the K uptake outcompetes the Ca, bcos it's related to the K Paradox. Should I provide a shades and try to put some sulfur during that hars condition?

    • @sudarmiadi4496
      @sudarmiadi4496 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @KALIX-NPK one more question, my chilli plants never stop or continuesly producing new buds / branches, bloom & fruits, does that mean that plant continuesly doing cell division, its never really switch to generative stages? So the demand for Ca, B & Si are higher than the determinate / annual plants?

      @neddelic - Great question! 🌟 Let's dive in and shed some light on the calcium difference between water-soluble and granular fertilizers.
      Water-soluble fertilizers are designed to dissolve quickly in water for fast nutrient uptake, but they often don't include calcium because calcium doesn't dissolve as readily and can form precipitates when combined with certain other nutrients like phosphates or sulfates. That's why calcium is usually provided separately, often in the form of calcium nitrate or chelated calcium, to avoid these issues.
      On the other hand, granular fertilizers can include calcium because they're slow-release and don't rely on immediate solubility. This makes them ideal for providing a steady supply of calcium over time, especially in soils that need more structural support or long-term nutrient replenishment.
      If you're looking to supplement calcium in a water-soluble feeding system, consider using calcium nitrate or foliar sprays for quick absorption. It's all about balancing your approach to match your plants' needs and growing environment!
      Thanks for raising such a valuable topic-it’s a great reminder of how precision nutrient management helps plants thrive. Keep the questions coming! 🌱✨
