Thanks, Mr. Sinn for the vid! Here are the time stamps for those who are looking for a specific stage :) stage 1 : @1:51 (Low Growth) stage 2 : @3:58 (High Growth) stage 3 : @7:12 (Decreasing NIR) stage 4 : @10:00 (Low/No Growth) stage 5 (highly debated, not accepted by all geographers/scientists) : @13:35 (Negative NIR)
I have a AP human geography test tomorrow and on Thurs(The test is splitted into two parts and we have block schedule), and this mr. sin is like my savior right now. Thank you so much for your clear explanations to help me understand it!
same...this was super duper helpful for my AP human geography test tomorrow bc i didn't rlly get how to understand the demographic model and mr sinn really helped me...thank you so much
Thanks! Even though this is for American students this was very helpful for me studying my National5 Geography in Scotland. I found it quite confusing how this is an AP lesson - I was always under the impression those courses were for 17 and 18 years olds, yet this is identical to a 14-15 year old class in Scotland. I might be mistaken though... I guess It’s just interesting to see the difference.
Cameron Alexander I am glad this was helpful! This video is for anyone who is studying for AP Human Geography. Please consider sharing it with anyone you think it would help. Let me know also if there is any other content I should cover that would help you!
The fifth stage is undeniable. Many developed and developing countries have seen an increase in deaths due to the rising number of elderly and the decreasing amount of young people in the following generations. Population decline is only being held back by immigration in most developed nations.
True!! But I don't know if its goi'g to continue in some developed countries because the old generation is proportionally bigger due to the babyboom after WW2. Maybe it's going to stabalize back because people make less children know idk 🤷♀️

Umm America should be. We're estimated to lose 40 million jobs to automation which will affect majority of minorities and poor whites that are lower on the skill set spectrum so mass migration isn't the smartest approach. Quality of life and the fact resources are limited yada yada
looking at the current pandemic, I would make an assumption that stage 6 will be the same as stage 1, large death rate lead to more people having children in the future in order to maintain the population, human beings will just go through this loop over and over from stage 1 to stage 6...
So I have a Science question I'm trying to understand. I need to try to find the stage of the Demographic Transition Model in this country. If the death rate is more than the birth rate by 212,428 whilst the Immigration rate is larger than the Emigration rate by 220,251. I still can't understand at which stage this country lies. Am I right if I place it in Stage 5? If so, besides having the Death rate higher than the Birth rate, are there any other reasons for this?
Haha yes! Don't worry I will have videos on everything by the end of the year. New videos covering everything in Unit 2 are in the works now, with unit 3 coming early/mid October
Thank you for the support and letting me know you are having a problem. I just sent you an email with the notes included in it. I hope that helps! Thank you again for the support
Stage 5 is not hypothetical any more. It's very real and is happening all over the world...very quickly. Places that were associated with huge families only fifty years ago...India, China, Mexico, etc...have all dropped below replacement. And orhers, like Japan, most of Europe, and North America, have been there for years. Whether, and when, people will decide to have more children again...and who those people will be...in order to prevent a population implosion is the big question we need to ask now. And THAT'S what many think is the biggest unknown.
Good presentation but you are using abbreviations where it's not needed. I have a hostile feeling against people who excessively use jargon. It means they are insecure and want to impress their listeners.

Mr. Sinn is a whole saviour and thats ong
With automation on the horizon, it's probably a great time for Japan to have a negative NIR.
Umm America should be. We're estimated to lose 40 million jobs to automation which will affect majority of minorities and poor whites that are lower on the skill set spectrum so mass migration isn't the smartest approach. Quality of life and the fact resources are limited yada yada

Thank you very much you explained it very well by illustration and points .
Excellent video. Quick question: why is the red line (total population) still increasing in stage 3, if there is no population growth?
Very educative. Thank you
Great Video! you barely blinked lmao
10 minutes before the test yessir
does better access contraceptives also contribute in stage 3? Is it included in the medical revolution?
Love from india❤❤❤❤
Thank you, mr. sinn! Very useful
Very helpful thx !
This helped so much! Thank you⭐️
How is it a low growth, when the NIR graph shows an increasing rate? Like the line is going upwards? And then it is called low growth? how come?
Blink please

The next question is what comes after age 5, as obviously it is a recent phenomenon there could possibly be a stage 6.
Thank you sir!
