Their live versions are never like the ones on the album and never the same between each tour. That's great✨
One of the rare musical groups from the 80s that I liked from the start and still like to listen to.
There is nothing like being part of the crowd and reaching out at these concerts. Shivers. Hope there is the chance to do it again
Yes! One more time please!!!
2:40 thank you 😊 for sharing ❤️ 🙏 💖 💕 this, Personal Jesus is 1 of my favorite 😍 songs 🎵 ❤️ 💙 😀 💕 💖 of all time with the band (even though it's been covered many times, but in the end there's nothing like the original),also when they do it live ❤️ 💙 💜 💖 😀, it's a different story. 😅
OK I may be the 1st but I guess I a little distracted, when you said that looks like he had a burn 🔥 mark on his back or something (clearly I just an optical illusion from the red light that makes it look like that),also whatever you said (about the live version),it's all good 👍. Well that's all for now thank you 😊.
You should hear the acoustic version. Don't forget the 12 inch singles!
This is certainly very rock and roll. It may not come across as appealing but when you’re there the energy of the crowd is infectious and comes from Dave’s energy. What I also noticed was all those hands up in the air without cell phones. Those were good times.
seth, that final more electronic sequence is not a remix, it is the original, the same one that comes on the album, and it is perfect, in fact they also did it on the Devotional Tour and it is the one that they will always continue doing with some different riffing the truth is very good because it gives more variety
Great performance ❤!
That version was the highlight of that tour for me! ❤❤❤❤❤
Another useless fact about “Personal Jesus”. They finished the tour on the fifth November 2001, and that show was “special”: German fans prepared some surprises, like during “Freelove” they started throwing balloons on the stage and something else. Some surprises were prepared by Martin: he performed “Somebody” (he did it only two times a tour) and “World full of nothing” (the one and the last time after 1990). And crew members made something weird: during performing “Personal Jesus” with mentioning “telephone” one guy from crew went on the stage with a GIANT PHONE (can’t remember, maybe that’s Nokia 😆) and shouted something, it was funny! I’ve noticed they make something special in the end of every tour, usually Martin performs “Somebody”, but people who knows Martin in 2001 said: “He swore he’ll never sing that again and finally he did - everyone was happy!”. Sadly this concert was filmed on Nokia 3310 or on my old boot and there’s no recording in good quality (but however thank you someone for filming this, it’s very precious🤝).
Comment: It seems like I wrote too much.
And think about that Berlín show is 12-13 yers latter so they are older, but like the red vine ,older=better
Hello my friend :D YES they have aged very very well from what i have seen :D
The electronic part is from the original album version if you listen to it because I believe you saw the video, which has the single version and shorter
Reach out and touch Dave, the greatest frontman alive.
This is actually mostly like the album version, even the outro... I guess you've listened to the single version more?
They also do the same thing in Devotional, which you listened to.. maybe you forgot?
I might have forgotten to be fair
Yeah, it's understandable to be honest.. There are some great alt mixes of Personal Jesus which I would recommend you give a listen: Holier Than Thou Approach, Telephone Stomp and Pump are all quite good. I don't know if they're all on TH-cam and if they are I don't know if the quality would be the best.. I always listen to DM on Spotify so I really just don't know.
So, 6 songs left: 4 for encore and 2 for bonus tracks. Four of them are really great, the rest two are just normal (except some problems with Dave’s voice, I think I’ll write about it later). I should say this was a good tour in a nutshell, though I don’t consider some of the songs were the best) I like when Martin once mentioned that during their walking in Moscow they met the girl (or woman) dressed like Martin in 1980s who was waiting them next to the hotel for several days. They even called her Martina))). Sometimes I think that Russian (or Soviet, it would be honest) fans are the most devoted fans with German and Mexican ones!
*waiting for them - Bad English Time Again!
That does look a little sore. And Martin has absolutely just noticed.
No es ningún remix. El final de la versión original del álbum tiene ese final épico electrónico e hipnótico lo que ocurre es que tú reaccionaste en su momento a la versión del vídeo que acaba de forma abrupta.
Reach out and touch Seph!
😊
That's the album version
This is not a mix all live versión are improved ,they are not sounding never like the studio versión,,,,and they are longer in time too,,,,,😅😅😊😮
Listen to the Pump mix. No guitars.
Looks like I lost my comment due to link. Sad, but I had not another possibility to show their Warsaw concert in good quality. Sorry
Anyway, there’s recording on TH-cam, but it’s worse. They performed “I feel loved” before “Personal Jesus”, and it was really good, especially for drums, also there are some songs which weren’t performed during the concert in Paris, like “Clean”.
Yeah prefer the Devotional version of this. It just sounds better
Interesting how Dave switches up the pronunciation of certain words here, including the American accent he puts on when singing "cares," as you pointed out, and also on "Jesus." I can only imagine it's out of boredom. If I'm sick of this song, I can't begin to imagine how tired the band are of it.
Last night TH-cam fed me an explainer video of some 20 different British accents with examples. I kept waiting for a good example of your accent, but none was provided. So I just googled "british accent th sounds like f" and apparently this is known as "Th-fronting."
According to Wikipedia, ""fronting" refers to the position in the mouth where the sound is produced, not the position of the sound in the word, with the "th" coming from the tongue as opposed to the "f" or "v" coming from the more-forward lower lip."
Notably, the only time I've been tripped up by your accent is when you said the word "fatherly." Your use "Th-fronting" in that word was particularly marked. It's probably my favorite bit of your accent to listen to.
I have looked over a few videos since you mentioned this and the only one that is kinda similar to my accent is this one: th-cam.com/video/dABo_DCIdpM/w-d-xo.html at about 1:22
the southern english - Formal RP one
@@SephPlays The "Southern English - Formal RP" does closely match yours and appears to be one of the least affected British accents. But your accent has some attenuated features of other more affected British accents, like the shortening of some words by either dropping or cutting off the final consonants of words. For example, dropping the "t" or "r" sound at the end of words like "about" or "rather."
If i spend too much time around my mum and dad i end up picking up on their accents. Dad speaks in a common London Cockney accent. And mum is pretty similar to mine but also common. So i end up throwing in some *Common* arbitrations becoming less formal in tone. I personally haven't met another person who speaks exactly like me 😂
@@SephPlays Okay, so I just watched the "Learn the Cockney accent with Jason Statham." Jason does a good job of demonstrating the "Th-fronting" that I hear you doing here...
th-cam.com/video/1WvIwkL8oLc/w-d-xo.html
That said, I don't hear a lot of the other Cockney accent features he demonstrates in your accent. Do your siblings' accents mirror yours?
