The spirit of community is definitely what I remember the most about Ivan in Jamaica. Men rescued neighbors from their homes in the middle of the night, neighbors housed each other to ride out the storm, and the community shared water and resources during the aftermath. A house fire was accidentally ignited by a child with candle one day, and some neighbors shared their last bucket of water to out it. Sending love and protection to everyone affected by Beryl. 💛

Please be safe and let us spray that the high of the hurricane don’t hit Jamaica just the tale of the hurricane. Let’s pray for Jamaica. The government is doing a great job getting everyone ready for the hurricane please take precaution pleasedo what the government said to stay home stay off the road get some food and your flashlight and battery in case the power went out. You can see around you be safe. Everyone may God bless Jamaica at this time and continually bless us.
This Ms Beryl is packed with lots of wind and tornadoes and with our weather and waters been so hot lately expect anything. I pray it down size before making landfall

Remember my grandfather telling me him see a piece of zinc literally cut down a jelly tree during Gilbert
I remember Gilbert. My grandparents house was well built thank God for that. But some of our neighbors wasn't so fortunate..... One of our neighbors house was picked up and put into the street. In St. Mary in the 80s we were use to still using bathroom outside (out house) or chimmey and using oil lamps. It was bad but everyone survived. May Jah Bless our sweet Island of Jamaica and carry everyone through it all.
Wayne, I did not have a mild withdrawal. I had a major withdrawal!! Gilbert showed community, strength, and resilience of a nation. It also showed we have the tanicy to withstand trials; to share and take care of each other. It also showed how other nation cared for us and how gratitude is given. We are out of many one people.

Yes Tami Gilbert was an experience not to be forgotten, with the aftermath months of NO light, no water, no ice for months in some areas. I remember leaving work early in the weeks after so we could get home b4 it got dark. Night life was non existent! Yep dem dayz deh!😂

You should never go outside when the eye is passing, that is false security. My experience with Hugo was that it was a little less but what came with the tail was worst than what went before. The Island looked like a bomb was dropped on it, brown and no vegetation. Hurricanes are no joke.

I remember Gilbert and had the experience of Hugo a cat4, never want that again. Beryl did alot of damage to our South Coast and fishing industry and that was at 80 miles south of us.
