wow the production value of this show is fantastic and the performances do a good job in matching the quality of all the sets, costumes, and lighting... FANTASTIC JOB!!!!!
It's actually MGM's version of Oz, which is what the Royal Shakespeare Company used. The MGM movie came first, originating the script, songs, and look, then Royal Shakespeare made a play based on it.
Who were you? Were you in this? And I noticed Dorothy's line about the house and the wind was wrong. That's how much I've watched the film. I have to say this is pretty good for a high school. I thought MY school was above the usual standard (the Arts are where my school shines) but this is just as good!
Well, the RSC version has the Munchkins cower in front of Dorothy. So only her feet are hidden well. At this point, Dorothy steps out of her Kansas shoes and some one (presumably the Stage Hand) swaps them out for the Ruby Slippers, which a Munchkin puts them on her feet. Then, after the witches feet shoot underneath the farmhouse. The Witch asks Glinda where the slippers are and she turns to Dorothy and says : "Step forward, Dorothy!" The Munchkins part and Dorothy then steps forward revealing the shoes on her feet. The shoes that are on the dead witch's feet are only part of a prop.
