First and foremost, a huge congratulations to you, Dom and your little boy. It really bothers me that you worked so hard to leave your cottage spotless for the new owners and had to move into a dirty house. It looks as if they put in ZERO effort to clean anything. I would be embarrassed if I was them. The first thought I had when you opened the door was how much safer the stairs were! Happy anniversary to you both! Your mom is SO talented! The toys she made are absolutely amazing! Xx
This was exactly my experience. Left my old house spotless. Didn’t get the same courtesy from our new house. The house looks beautiful though. I’m sure your family will be very happy there. Highly recommend non invasive bamboo for your privacy. Super cheap and grows really fast but it’s also easy to trim with a cheap hedge cutter or even scissors.

We had the shame situation with poor cleaning from the previous owners, at least you will know you've got it all covered. It is so sad that the folk who lived there before did not clean it for you, but maybe there was a reason, and so now you have to have a good spring clean in Autumn! Your new garden is a blank canvas, and as you said, you can have some lovely trees around the edge, to block out being overlooked. Love that green you have painted your son's bedroom. Bless you being so happy about all your storage space. That is something I am very lacking in my little home. But there is only me and Madge, my beautiful black rescue greyhound - I just have too much stuff, and nowhere to put it! You have given me the push to try and de clutter, and clean, thank you, as you are a breath of fresh air! I am 67 (68 in November) years young, and have lost my mo jo in the last 7 years, but I am slowly trying to get it back again! What beautiful cats you have, and they will smell their furniture and know this is their new home, but to start with, there is a lot for them to take in! So lovely that they can look out of the big glass doors and windows into your lovely garden. I am sure you know to keep them in for a bit -about two weeks some folk say - until they are settled in your new home, before you let them out in the garden. Hope you’ll be very happy there ❤️ we moved into our long term family home several years ago & when we arrived they’d covered a bust pipe by wrapping it with tape and there was water all over the floor 🙈 and nothing had been cleaned. Then we came to decorate we found they’d done multiple bodged diy jobs. Whereas we had spent ages cleaning the house we left and even repainted a couple of walls! We’re UK based too x
Oh my goodness, we have moved into some dirty houses as well...like you, I have always thoroughly cleaned every nook and cranny as I've packed a house up but some people have zero manners or care for others. Nonetheless, it's a beautiful home who has got fabulous new owners who will give it the love it deserves. Wishing you much happiness ❤️

You might not think your lovely new home has character but you will able to put your own stamp on it without having to do too much work besides cosmetic stuff x so happy for you both! I sometime wish I was in a new build but I’m so far happy with how our home is progressing just a lot more hard work and still not enough storage space xx

I’ve been so excited all week for this video, I have followed your journey since your travelling days! What a beautiful new house, I can’t wait to see you turn it into a wonderful home for you all. I can’t believe what you and Dom have managed to achieve in your first few days, you are amazing❤ After living in many new builds both in the UK and Spain, which I loved and were very practical with a young family I have finally (at 50!😂) moved into a 400 year old farm cottage of my dreams, so I am sure you will get there when that season in life comes.

Arrange no after you cleaned house before moving, I remember my last move they said about 3,00 exchange, it didn't happen first thing in the morning it happened, I asked please let me hoover all house , they said no , I've not got over it I wanted to leave house spotless , I understand how you feel but you clean so well , you will no it's clean when you have finished, love your new home ❤

Is about compromise. Like you, I much prefer old characterful cottages. However, new builds are usually well laid out and practical. I’m sure you will get your farmhouse in due course but for now enjoy what you have.

Honestly if you can it’s a million times easier to deep clean and paint a new house before the boxes and furniture move in. I would try to get the keys a week before we left our old place just for this reason.
Yes, it's disappointing that the house wasn't clean when they moved in, but I think before everyone criticises the previous owner you should remember that we don't know what was going on in his life. There might be reasons behind why he struggled to keep it clean.
OMG the last owners should be ashamed of themselves for leaving in that dirt 😡 I’m sure you will have it up to your excellent standards asap . Good luck in your new home 🏡🏡
The previous owners may have had difficult circumstances, like a disabled family member for example. Not always a black and white situation and easy to fall behind on cleaning whilst caring for others.
Absolutely awful for you to move into your new home and it being so dirty, shameful on them. This happened to me and I just stood and cried knowing img clean I left mine. But wishing you lots of happiness ❤
The house is gorgeous kay, But you should complain to the estate agents with how much dirt has been left, the people who sold the house should of cleaned it and I think you can claim for either for someone to clean it or for your cleaning materials and time, contact them to see. It's disgusting how they left it, and a lot of hard work cleaning you have had to do. But already it's looking far Cleaner. X
Shame on the vendors. Unacceptable to leave their filth behind. Do you have no recourse? We do a last minute check and if it’s not right we withhold money.

Honestly if you can it’s a million times easier to deep clean and paint a new house before the boxes and furniture move in. I would try to get the keys a week before we left our old place just for this reason.
Yes, it's disappointing that the house wasn't clean when they moved in, but I think before everyone criticises the previous owner you should remember that we don't know what was going on in his life. There might be reasons behind why he struggled to keep it clean.

The previous owners may have had difficult circumstances, like a disabled family member for example. Not always a black and white situation and easy to fall behind on cleaning whilst caring for others.
Absolutely awful for you to move into your new home and it being so dirty, shameful on them. This happened to me and I just stood and cried knowing img clean I left mine. But wishing you lots of happiness ❤
The house is gorgeous kay, But you should complain to the estate agents with how much dirt has been left, the people who sold the house should of cleaned it and I think you can claim for either for someone to clean it or for your cleaning materials and time, contact them to see. It's disgusting how they left it, and a lot of hard work cleaning you have had to do.
