Sonny sings his 1956 version of The Cat Came Back. On August 14, 1956 during a three-day session at the Capitol Recording Studio in Hollywood, Sonny James records the single "The Cat Came Back"/ "Hello Old Broken Heart" and released in September. It charted at #12. Also was wrote by Sonny James.

I was born in 1955 and as a toddler l used to walk round in a circle for the whole song saying..".the cat came back"....so l was told!!!!!!😂

I remember this song for the movie "The Hillbillies and the Haunted House" from the 60's when I was a child. I would walk around singing "the cat came back" which was the only words to the song that I could remember.

This Song was on "Sesame Street" Whe I was about 10...MY LITTLE BROTHER & I LOVED IT AND SANG IT ENDLESSLY FOR A YEAR DROVE MY SITERS AMANDA AND [MY DEAR DEPARTED OLDER SISTER DEBRA KAY (GJERTSON) SPROUL!!!!!
