in 1974 I was best man at a 3day croatian wedding here in the states. the whole town was Croatian, and I learned just how down to earth and hard working and life loving the croatian people are. Beautiful folks. They know how to party and drink too.

Didn't know much of her until tonight, she is amazing and great! Nika worked her tail off in the F4 tonight.. Imagine if her parents would have let her stay there and not go lol, many do that but glad she took the step to come on over. Best wishes to her, what a nice and humble young lady. Stay true to yourself! And yes 4 years pass by in a blink, older we get it turns to decades passing in a blink as well haha.

I watched and rooted for Nika last night (final four game) with my new #10 tee-shirt on. ……and I’m wearing it all day today too…as a tribute to play and amazing attitude she possesses. I’m 73 yrs. old and Nika and her team have me watching basketball again ! I hope NIL regulations change for foreign students playing here. Terrible mistake!!!
Nika is my favorite because I have Croatian ancestry on my mom's side of the family, who came to the USA in the late 1800s or early 1900s.
Nika You are a Class Act and an Amazing Athlete! And I fully appreciate how important your family values are to you, and The people you included and mentioned, along the way that helped you to where you are today. That is really Awesome. Your Basketball skills, Passing, Shooting, Rebounding, and your Awareness around you is incredible. You did an Outstanding Job guarding Caitlin Clark in the Final Four. Pick her up full court, deny her the ball, if she catch it play her slightly on her left side instead of straight up was the way to play her.

I follow a few athletes in tennis and volleyball who are Croatian and live in America, and they speak the absolute best English of any foreigners I’ve heard. What’s the secret? Lol
English in elementary school, english in high school and english at home, watching movies and TV shows.
Not just English too. I follow Croatian players in European football and most of them learn to speak fluently different languages. Ivan Rakitic, who played with Sevilla and Barca, he speaks Spanish like close to a native speaker.

I had a similar story for when I started going to CT State Community College, minus basketball of course.
Croatians and Romanians are very good at learning foreign languages. They pick up on the subtleties of new languages quickly.
