    Thank you once more! I have a quick question - can the CTRL+F shortcut be used to find a specific item?

    Great initiative. Yeah, it makes sense to refer to MS learn docs for fact kind of questions. I totally agree with Vlad about powershell command parameters etc. Memorizing aspect can be avoided in the study plan.

      I don't think Microsoft will do that, mostly because they still need to cover some expenses for exam development and to pay Pearson Vue for the exam proctoring.

    I'm not yet convinced. I slogged to get those certifications, having material to hand certainly lowers the bar for new entrants.

    • @VladTalksTech
      @VladTalksTech  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That was one of my first thoughts as well - but at the same time, the fact that it gets closer to "Real life" where you know the direction, but might not remember the exact PowerShell parameter .. but you know where to look. I like that no time is added, so again, just feels closer to evaluating what you would do in a real scenario!

    • @RodStewart_Geek

      I would agree. MSFT exams lack the technical depth to require an open-book approach. This approach makes much more sense with the Linux Foundation certs where true technical knowledge is being tested.

    • @YMALDOR
      @YMALDOR ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm slogging too, but the real question is, does the open book solves the useful part of the "slog" or the useless one ? The goal of certification is to confirm understanding of concepts and application of concept. For MS certification there's always that understanding part but there's also a part where you have to know by heart specific details. The openbook part is going to solve the part for which you have to know certain things by heart, but it's not going to impact the understanding part. No one is going to go to a certification and try to learn and understand concept on the fly through microsoft learn.
      It makes certifications easier, yes, but not in a bad way I think.

      The time isn't nearly enough to thoroughly look up all of the questions. If you don't know the answer to (let's say) half of the question off the top of your head, you're not gonna pass, even with the ability to search MS Learn.

    I am waiting on this new Learn access to be included in the AZ-204 Exam. Online says mid sept, but does anyone know exact date when I should schedule my AZ-204? I have already reached out to @Liberty Munson but got no response.

    • @VladTalksTech
      @VladTalksTech  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There won't be a confirmation that it's included or not from anyone - it should be by now, but there's not guarantee and you shouldn't depend on it to pass the certification!

    The certifications demonstrate knowledge, they do not guarantee practical skills or real-world problem-solving abilities. Employers may still require candidates to prove their abilities through practical assessments or interviews.
    Some individuals may prepare for certification exams by memorizing specific answers or "brain dumping" information without truly understanding the concepts. This can lead to candidates who hold certifications but lack a deep understanding of the subject matter.
    Not all employers or industries place significant value on Microsoft certifications. Some may prioritize other qualifications or factors, such as experience. I have most employers giving little value to this certificates and much more to the fact that have you worked on any project on this Tool etc.

    • @VladTalksTech
      @VladTalksTech  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Certifications will never replace pure experience - but over what you said, they also prove employers that you are a continious learner!
