  • Singapore went from a oil mining metropolis in the 1980's, to one of the safest, and most modernized countries in the world. Along with this massive transition, was the construction of Singapore's Supertrees. Throughout the video, I explain what these trees actually do, and once you watch the video, you'll be truly amazed at just how cool these trees are.
    Singapore spent close to $1 Billion Dollars to construct the Supertrees and the gardens around them, and they bring in millions of tourists every year. The Supertrees are an incredible creation and showed the world that Singapore could balance out a thriving economy and flourishing environment at the same time. Thank you for watching, and if you enjoyed the video, consider subscribing to my channel.

    Doesn't make sense. If their project was a tourist attraction, then surely it has increased the carbon footprint of their tourism industry by bringing in more travelers. If it was a sustainability oriented project, then tourism/economy shouldn't be the main focus, and their "Going Green" mission didn't work as expected. Places like Dubai and Singapore are already tourist destinations, and a "sustainable tourist attraction" is just that, an attraction, funds for which could have been used in more sustainable methods if they wanted to, if the "tourist" aspect was not considered.

    Central park cost 14 million to build originally… You have to factor in inflation and additional investments if you wanna make that comparison

      that's exactly the problem, I agree with the factor in inflation to take into account, but additional investments such as the maintenance will also be observed

    Singapore constructs a small garden, and you're saying the entire city state is now somehow "environmentally friendly"?

    • @augustinefaithdefender
      @augustinefaithdefender 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Not just that, that only shows how commit they are to the environment. They are so rich, they spend more money than cany countries in the world to support the environment around their city and the world!

    • @natep6729
      @natep6729 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Singapore is actually committed to help the environment more than any other countries in the region. Their land scarcity forces them to do so. But their carbon emissions are still worse than some third world countries because of the oil refineries and coal power plants. But the govt is actively working towards solving that as well.
