Just north of the SP East west about 1 mile north was an area that had a couple wide open garden RR good times for kids
There’s a guy here in town who has always done it as a charity fundraiser with his garden railroad. Well that’s something of an exaggeration it isn’t really a garden railroad it’s a Christmas display but he sets up in his yard and then takes down again
Yup he was posting as they built it. His dad does rock stuff. So that was easy. Well as easy as a load of boulders getting dumped in the street in front of your house and you have a few days to clean it up and build your waterfall. Before the city says get yer damn rocks outta the road!!
@@ToyManTelevision hahahaaa! I live in south MS and there's no rocks unless you want to buy them at a premium. I've been trying to get a few loads for my rc & train layouts for my backyard. One day I'll finish them.

Hi. He’s totally working outside right now. Back to the garden railroad right now. Just finished the waterfall in the canyon that flows under the steel bridge. On to the canyon! And redo the loop so he can run his F scale (dead rail battery radio controlled) while laying 7 1/2 gauge! When the snow comes back to the HO.
Shipping!! I feel ya brother. I’m getting a 5” gauge Polly 3 locomotive kit shipped from Nottingham UK and luckily they have a $100 per kit deal going on.. Fewww.. But, 5” gauge ties from a different company yikes!! Anyway I decided to cut my own 2/2’s and it’s working out. Keep steaming!
Next Sunday we’re looking at another 7 1/2 inch gauge railroad. Once again one persons private railroad except this one has 10 miles of track! He’s tried everything in the world for tires including the plastic ones and loves them. A dollar per tie and a dollar for shipping. It’s insane that they cost as much to ship as they do to buy.
Curious if you and most importantly Adam would be willing to do a video on his experience with COVID. I think getting the perspective of people who actually got it would be interesting and helpful.
I am also building a 7.5 inch gauge railroad in my backyard as well. I am using the plastic ties from Steve Alley -- Should you ever make a trip to the Virginia and Truckee or the museum in Carson City (I know you have but should you return) My railroad will be very nearby.
What a great video toyman!!! I was on a trip in bend oregon... I was looking for some ho scale trains but then I came across one of those old G scale 2-6-0 battery powered steam locomotive sets you made a video on a while ago!!! I thought about calling you so I could trade for one of you HO locomotive's but then I realized I dont have your number.. I hope your and our freind in the railroading community will get better
I'm there's someone with my level of railroad insanity out there that actually has the budget to build it hahaha, this is great, I can't wait to see his finished work, do you know if he'll be open to visits after it's all complete?
I have been to Swanton Pacific, met Al Smith. His objective was to save as much of the Louis McDermott built equipment as possible. Rest in peace Al, and thank you.
He’s been buying that from a supplier. Most of it is aluminum but some of it is steel. He really prefers the steel. The stuff on top of the Trussell is steel as well as the rails crossing through the driveway. I think everything else is the aluminum. The aluminum is a lot cheaper. But it’s regular rail shaped just like an actual train rail just smaller
Thanks! I’ve been looking for some way to get track like that to start work on a live steam locomotive. Is there anyway particular way to find people or dealers that sell similar products near me?
With a government job, anything is possible for no one gets fired or laid off guaranteeing perpetual, elevated income above most of us serfs. Amazing work and Railroad!
I hope he lives in a good neighborhood and doesn't have mischievous kids that will try to destroy the track by the road next to the sidewalk. He is putting in a lot of hours making the track look really good in his yard.
We were thinking the same thing. I don’t think there’s room there to put a fence between the tracks in the sidewalk so he must be planning to just leave it like that.
We were supposed to film that last fall and the guy just didn’t get the railroad finished. I’ve actually bought him a golden spike for when he gets it done. Was supposed to be this summer
I didn't understand it when I heard that Adam switched to HOn3, but with the N scale layout destruction, it makes more sense. Well, when he is more advanced with the current 3 layouts, he will surely add a new N scale layout on top of the HOn3. Meanwhile, I'm slowwwwly build my small layout!
I can't even find the time or the energy to start work on my O scale layout, this guy has THREE different scales of rail road to work on, not to mention his actual job on a rail road. Talk about a lot irons in the fire lol.
Yea. Look at the brass!!!!!!! Those are like 400 to 500 each! And the big f sale like 2 to 3 thousand each. He’s building 2 7 1/2 inch steam locomotives. Like 10 thousand each. Oh and a pool? God bless him. Don’t know how don’t care. But he can and does.
Those railroad ties are made about 10 mi from me and the owners of that have a 2 ft Narrow Gauge Railroad they're building and are very nice people of course they're train people
That a shame about his N scale layout did he sell the rolling stock and engines or is he going to rebuild it, he does have a one track mind or in this case a three track mind
There’s so massive that I don’t think that would work out. Will probably take three days just to print one. Had a dollar apiece they’re not expensive but it’s another dollar to ship them. But white van has been doing with the worlds largest backyard railroad is he simply packs up a trailer and heads out to Missouri picks up 4 or 5000 of them. Enough to last him for years and it just requires one trip out there with a trailer. Sure it’s like $4000 to buy the tires but that’s for 4000 tires so who cares?
Tim Gay hi. Yes and I’ll bet that’s how they prototyped it. Great way to make a few to test. I just found out the rocket engines in the Space X rockets are 3D printed!!!
Well they pay well.. but that’s not exactly how Adam does it. I actually have no idea about his spending and no one’s business I guess. The point is to have fun. And it’s great if you can afford cool toys.

Amazing video - thank you!! May I please ask what type of miniature trees Adam is using on the outdoor railroad? They look great.
At one point in time I had some 7/8 inch equipment but it involves a long story with family members
HUM... well take the loong story and cut it down to a short line railroad.
Adams doing great so far. He’s actually donating his blood to cure more people. That system seems to be working
@@ToyManTelevision that's really good to heard!!!
@@ToyManTelevision also would you ever sell that set of hobby town f units
I'm there's someone with my level of railroad insanity out there that actually has the budget to build it hahaha, this is great, I can't wait to see his finished work, do you know if he'll be open to visits after it's all complete?
Im sure he will. Dont know for sure.
Absolutely!
Can't find a place to say this on FB. Have you ever visited the Swanton Pacific Railroad Live Steam 19" gauge?
I have been to Swanton Pacific, met Al Smith. His objective was to save as much of the Louis McDermott built equipment as possible. Rest in peace Al, and thank you.
You need to visit Northern Nevada Live Steamers in Gardinervill.
Indeed. I LOVE Gardnerville. But have never see the railroad
@@ToyManTelevision we run the second Saturday of the month from May to October so if your in the area, pop by.
What does he use for rail? Is it specially designed for model train track or is it he just improvising with other types of bars? Much appreciated
That bloke has spent his money wisely...on trains!
That he had!
With a government job, anything is possible for no one gets fired or laid off guaranteeing perpetual, elevated income above most of us serfs.
Amazing work and Railroad!
Most government workers have little to no education or skills needed in the real world. Complete wastes of oxygen.
I’m fortunate enough to live in an amazing neighborhood. Sure, there are some rough kids in the mix, but I am WAY rougher, and they know it :)
Can you do a 15 inch gauge backyard railroad?
Ya, I almost went that way. A good friend just south of me has 15" around his property
We were supposed to film that last fall and the guy just didn’t get the railroad finished. I’ve actually bought him a golden spike for when he gets it done. Was supposed to be this summer
Is it possible to build a 15 inch gauge backyard railroad?
I would love to screw around like that....but I am broke...lol
Where there’s a will there’s a way. There’s lots of free screwing around to be had. Karen spends hours carving little trains out of sticks
5:28 Are you sure that is not a paper back drop that you can order?
Damn it. You peeked.
Small is good. Often better. It just depends on what you like to do.
How does Adam deal with snow?
Hi. Well so far he doesn’t. But he tore a bunch out and started over! So we need to get back there. Anyway he doesn’t run or work in the winter.
Have you done a follow up
Not yet. Soon. He started over. Sigh. But the new stuff is so cool.
Adam contact a loco auto dealer and see if they have a transporter coming from Ohio I bet they will help you out. Best of luck
I can't even find the time or the energy to start work on my O scale layout, this guy has THREE different scales of rail road to work on, not to mention his actual job on a rail road.
Talk about a lot irons in the fire lol.
Oh and out in the garage he’s restoring two mustangs. He also did our mustang
@@ToyManTelevision Talk about a renaissance man haha.
I would put a fence around the yard to keep out vandals.
Right now his plan is to just flips off the swimming pool. But he may change that idea
I’m just thinking of all the money this must cost on top of the pool install!
Those railroad ties are made about 10 mi from me and the owners of that have a 2 ft Narrow Gauge Railroad they're building and are very nice people of course they're train people
Wow!!! We know a guy with a two foot. But he’s not letting people come over because of Covid
What happened to the N scale equipment?
Boxes. Lots and lots of boxes.
@@ToyManTelevision I see then
That a shame about his N scale layout did he sell the rolling stock and engines or is he going to rebuild it, he does have a one track mind or in this case a three track mind
No he just kept everything! I’ll let rolling stock and all those locomotives, sitting in boxes right now
What about Adam getting someone local to 3D print the plastic ties instead of paying the shipping and cost for them ??
There’s so massive that I don’t think that would work out. Will probably take three days just to print one. Had a dollar apiece they’re not expensive but it’s another dollar to ship them. But white van has been doing with the worlds largest backyard railroad is he simply packs up a trailer and heads out to Missouri picks up 4 or 5000 of them. Enough to last him for years and it just requires one trip out there with a trailer. Sure it’s like $4000 to buy the tires but that’s for 4000 tires so who cares?
@@ToyManTelevision Kewl it was just a thought to help out.
Tim Gay hi. Yes and I’ll bet that’s how they prototyped it. Great way to make a few to test. I just found out the rocket engines in the Space X rockets are 3D printed!!!
I need a job at AM Track if they can pay that kind of money
To afford all of that. Wow !!!!!
Well they pay well.. but that’s not exactly how Adam does it. I actually have no idea about his spending and no one’s business I guess. The point is to have fun. And it’s great if you can afford cool toys.
Do you have a link to Adams channel?
He doesn’t use it. Look to prospectormodels FB page.
@@ToyManTelevision tried that. Maybe I'm not spelling it right or? Maybe he could tag me or something?
