about the girlfriend thing, unless you want to marry her, you cannot couple. if you really2 want to marry her, you can "couple" with one condition, you will be engaged with her as soon as possible. once you are engaged, looking at her face will be considered as sunnah. if u want to date can, with 1 condition, she brings 1 of her family members or mahram to the date. simply said, juz get married, the easiest way and it is a sunnah too. this is wat i learned from an ustaz ive been hearing.

Having girlfriend without thinking about marrying her is I agree haram. Having "girlfriend" for 2-3 months or more with aim of marrying her, and learning about her during that time is I believe allowed. JazakAllah Khayren :)
Perhaps we need to clear this topic. about having girlfriend in ISLAM. Why some say having GF is forbidden some say having GF is not forbidden. We can discuss this by getting evidences in Qur'an and Hadith@Sunnah and interpret with no conflict @ in good manner.
