Yung typical pinoy couldnt really care less about these kinds of things kasi tingin nila less likely mangyari ito sa kanila. I have a classmate lumabas kami sa kanyang bahay at nagtanong ako bat hindi niya i.padlock kahit yung gate lang at sabi niya na wala na mang mga mamahalin sa loob even though there is (PC, workout equipment, etc.). Kaya nga yung mga westerners umunlad unlike PH 😒

My family home was robbed when I was still there last Nov 13, 2018. We couldn't sleep even after weeks so we eventually decided to hire a security guard and installed burglar alarms on all doors for peace of mind. We have a German Shepherd but our dog has no access to the part where they entered. It felt na parang pinag aralan talaga nila yung house. We also have a cctv but unfortunately biglang nag stop pala siya mag record 2 days before the incident. This video helps. Being robbed in your home is really traumatizing.
Agree, more than the stuff they’re able to get, mas grabe yung trauma of someone going inside your “safe home” experienced the same thing, twice, binalikan kami and matinding pag aaral ginawa nila sa house namin cause they even broke the grills. :(
I agree with the trauma thing. 10 years ago pa yung napasok kami ng magnanakaw, nakalimutan na namin yung things na nakuha from us but the trauma of having strangers na makapasok sa bahay stays even after all these years.

I'm hoping the security film could also work on the jalousie-type windows. Not sure how to reinforce those though!
Reminds me of what my mama says na huwag na ipaayos yung labas ng bahay pabayaan na mukhang gubat para di pag interesan, basta ung luob panatilihing malinis at maayos. Growing up, it's one of my insecurities, nahihiya ako mag invite ng mga friends sa bahay namin, di ko man lang ma"flex" to think na nasa structural field ang father and brother ko, but now I'm old enough to understand things, tama si mudra (mother knows best), in our entire life, isa lang ang susi na ginagamit namin bahay, wala kami kanya kanyang susi unlike sa mga kakilala ko, never din kami nagtatago sa mga pots or mats or any hidden areas, we just leave it open, unless malayuan yung pupuntahan at wala talagang maiiwan sa bahay. We never locked our door kasi may mga late umuuwi, isang factor na din na safe talaga ang area namin (somehow), but we are still and always vigilant, gamit na gamit ang 5 senses namin kasi tahimik ang area, kaya konting kaluskos alerto din kami (kahit na madalas eh mga pusa lang or mababait na aaligid sa bakuran) at syempre sangkatutak na aso ang katapat HAHAHA. but ill keep this in mind for my own future home!

This is really traumatizing. Last november, we also experienced being entered by burglars and it was at 3 am in the morning. Fortunately i was awake that time and I was able to wake my father. I didn't see the burglar but I heard strange sounds coming from the gate in our sala. At first i thought it was just an animal who keeps bumping in the gate however, when i heard the bamboo slides rustling which is impossible for any animals to reach since it was hanged, i was horrified. I woke my father and when he opened the door going to the sala he saw our outdoor gate gaping and saw some movements by the garage and there he screamed "kawatan". It was really traumatizing that eve.n though it's been months since it happened and we tightened our security by installing cams and fences, i still feel not reassured. Thank you. Mr Slater for sharing this wonderful video about home security. I hope more people will reach this because this is really helpful to prevent traumatic events to affect more people. God bless

I 100% agree with the xiaomi security kit recommendation. Also got this after we were burglarized. Gives us peace of mind. Only advice is to keep the control hub inside a locked room so it won't be unplugged and will continue alarming.

Install your alarm system sa bandang taas ng doors. Instinctively, aakalain ng mga robbers nasa bandang doorknob lang din yun. Kung planuhin nila na patayin yung alarm, hahanapin pa nila. More time for the security to alarm yung mga tao sa bahay. 👍
I use Kerui home security. It has a console to link door sensors, infrared sensors, siren and can be controlled by FOB and can get alerts through SMS/call.

Think about Barometric Pressure measurement~ built a pharma plant, and we had to de-rate with timers, as would immediately detect door opening. Whereas, for positive pressurised zones, you only want to alarm if door LEFT open.
When my family was away on vacation, someone tried to open our door and window and I knew cause I was right beside the door and window and I literally froze. We have home alarm but it was deactivated at that time. Sa takot ko, I tried grabbing a kitchen knife . The thief left when I turn on the light.Buti di nakapasok. This happen in the USA . That week 3 houses in the neighborhood were also robbed. I am allergic to dog hair. I now activate the alarms and turn lights on and installed cameras.
For big houses, install power fence system also if you have extra budget so that along the fence pa lang they’ll be electrocuted na. No chances of entering the house anymore.

My mom use to bring scisdors every day when she goes out. So effectively when we go out of town we always it. One day we went to batangas port heading to mindoro and the bags should go tru the x ray. We are about to board the boat then my mom was stop in the x ray section because the officer was looking for the scissors he saw in monitor. It took so long for them to find it the bag then they found it. In the resort i told my mom " pano yan wala tayo scissor pano buksan ang mga food snacks. She said meron akong scisdors. Huh sabi ko diba na confiscate yan . Sabi nya oo un isa kaso dalawa ang dala ko un isa hindi nila makita kita. Grabe tawa ako ng tawa. Kc i saw them making kalkal to the bag but they gave up. The scissors was inside a pouch underneath the bag.

Nanakawan din po kami 2-3 years ago at naging restless kami buong pamilya 😭 May Dogs kami and everything sadly that time sobrang lakas ng ulan kaya di namin narinig yung aso 😭 thankfully walang nasaktan samin, altho the trauma is still there na sa tuwing kakahol lang aso namin, and may marinig kaming kaluskos lang nagigising agad kami 🥺

German sheps are the best lol, very loyal and malambing sa owners, but will tear an unknowing and dangerous stranger to shreds

Install your alarm system sa bandang taas ng doors. Instinctively, aakalain ng mga robbers nasa bandang doorknob lang din yun. Kung planuhin nila na patayin yung alarm, hahanapin pa nila. More time for the security to alarm yung mga tao sa bahay. 👍

I use Kerui home security. It has a console to link door sensors, infrared sensors, siren and can be controlled by FOB and can get alerts through SMS/call.

Think about Barometric Pressure measurement~ built a pharma plant, and we had to de-rate with timers, as would immediately detect door opening. Whereas, for positive pressurised zones, you only want to alarm if door LEFT open.

When my family was away on vacation, someone tried to open our door and window and I knew cause I was right beside the door and window and I literally froze. We have home alarm but it was deactivated at that time. Sa takot ko, I tried grabbing a kitchen knife . The thief left when I turn on the light.Buti di nakapasok. This happen in the USA . That week 3 houses in the neighborhood were also robbed. I am allergic to dog hair. I now activate the alarms and turn lights on and installed cameras.

For big houses, install power fence system also if you have extra budget so that along the fence pa lang they’ll be electrocuted na. No chances of entering the house anymore.

My mom use to bring scisdors every day when she goes out. So effectively when we go out of town we always it. One day we went to batangas port heading to mindoro and the bags should go tru the x ray. We are about to board the boat then my mom was stop in the x ray section because the officer was looking for the scissors he saw in monitor. It took so long for them to find it the bag then they found it. In the resort i told my mom " pano yan wala tayo scissor pano buksan ang mga food snacks. She said meron akong scisdors. Huh sabi ko diba na confiscate yan . Sabi nya oo un isa kaso dalawa ang dala ko un isa hindi nila makita kita. Grabe tawa ako ng tawa. Kc i saw them making kalkal to the bag but they gave up. The scissors was inside a pouch underneath the bag.

Nanakawan din po kami 2-3 years ago at naging restless kami buong pamilya 😭 May Dogs kami and everything sadly that time sobrang lakas ng ulan kaya di namin narinig yung aso 😭 thankfully walang nasaktan samin, altho the trauma is still there na sa tuwing kakahol lang aso namin, and may marinig kaming kaluskos lang nagigising agad kami 🥺

Same thoughts. Now they know their security set up and might research online for ways to disable those device and they now know the location of his concealed weapon. It’s like showing people the front of your credit card and all they need to do is guess the 3 digit CVV.

In filipino setting, having a dog is the best security feauture that you can ever have. Dogs can sense if someone entering the premises
(I have 10 Dogs 😆) and they are all not tie up roaming around the house
But they can feed them poisoned food
But they can be poisoned or maybe shot by a gun, they can also be a weakness 😔
