My mother made and canned hundreds of pints of "chile sauce" annually, from fresh ingredients from the garden . . . all but the spices. I remember she used old panty hose bag full of spices for each batch. My father loved it and put it on just about everything at every meal. I'm sure he was very happy that I did not like the stuff.
I was way ahead of the Hidden Valley curve, sprinkling the salad dressing seasoning on everything when the packets hit the supermarket decades ago..During Thanksgiving dinner, I put it on my turkey and all the sides.. My family thought I was nuts...I wrote the company a few years ago, and asked to put it in a shaker container.. Low and behold.. Really makes me wonder..😂
