You missed it's most important feature, it's efficiency. It has a 38 kWh battery, and it'll outperform larger battery cars due to how efficient it handles the electricity that you put into it. This has loads of knock-on benefits, cheaper to run, less time on chargers - which also means others can get on to charge quicker as you don't need to be on there as long. It's an excellent practical vehicle.
It's impressive how modular Kiyundai's platforms are. I'm not surprised NY forces owners to stick some ugly stickers on their bumpers in exchange for HOV access. EZPass transponders would be much less obtrusive and ugly.
Police can't see ez pass. If its such a hassle to have a sticker to be able to use the HOV lane (which you wouldn't normally be able to use cause you don't have passengers) don't put one on the car and stay in the regular lane, issue resolved. 😊 How is this even a complaint?. Their doing us a favor for having an EV, cause we could have stayed in traffic😂😂 be HUMBLE..
Toyota does the same thing with Corolla. They offer wiper de-icer and heated steering wheel in Canada, but not on the USA model. I don't know why. It can get cold in parts of the USA in winter, so those features would be convenient. They do offer heated seats in the USA, but only on top models with full leather seats.
Same thing with the Honda Civic. They cheaped out so much for America. And in Europe you can get rear vents on the Civic. Nothing will let you get that here. I don't understand why.
About to buy one of these used with the $4k credit. I'm generally excited about it, but I'm kind of a stickler for having a clean, shiny car, and your up close shots reveal how much orange peel there is in the paint job, which is really frustrating. Wish they could spend just a little more to get a nicer paint job on it.
Ian brought me here from his post in the Ioniq FB group. I have that exact same car same year trim and color here in Montreal. And the reason I bought it is exactly the same as you state here in your video. It feels like any other regular ICE car and not like a spaceship like other EV’s. I have the Ultimate model which is the fully spec’d out but it doesn’t come with ventilated seats. Only heated in the front and the back. Great review BTW.
I'm a Dasher who drives 100 miles a day in NY. What is the cold weather mileage on this car and the level 2 charging speed? I'm looking for a good cheap ev for high mileage food delivery.
Ok I take the point that we need more EV’s that aren’t “Un-car”, “smartphone on wheels” “spaceship” types. But this ain’t it, chief. It’s built well, and if you just need to sit on the interstate, it’s fine. But it’s like… allergic to fun roads. You turn the steering wheel and it’s like “….uh….no dude. Corners are for driving slowly. Mountain roads don’t exist, if they did I’d be built for them”.
My wife test drove one of these. I sat in the passenger seat. I was so impressed by the interior quality, the buttons and design, the comfort, when she said, “I HATE this”. Really? “Yeah, it drives AWFUL”. So i took the wheel. And yeah, it drove like crap. Great if you sit in traffic on the freeway, but we commute over a 2500ft mountain pass. It HATES cornering. It makes a corolla look like a sports car. So, no. We don’t need more electric cars like this. The only EV I’ve driven that drives worse is the Mercedes B-Class electric. Oh god. I just threw up in my mouth a little. Zach. If you’re reading this. If you get the chance to drive a Mercedes B class electric. Don’t. Drop everything and run the other way until you pass out. No human being deserves that kind of torture.
Whaaat? It’s our second car, and the thing I really love about it when I drive it (too rarely) is how comfortable and driveable it is! And it is soooooo efficient compared to any other EVs;-). It is a really solid car. Anyway. It is not produced anymore RIP.

I love how they put the electric motor under the hood like a normal car…. Makes it look cool
I get 200 miles of range out of my 2020 ioniq ev during the summer. Perfect used car im leasing mine and will buy it after
Does it have rear seat USB port?
The bottle test failure sound is perfect 👍

We have HOV lanes in Northern VA to Washington DC.

When it stop automatic does the brakes light show?

Welcome to Long Island man, what part of it did you visit?
So cool
Do not all states have HOV lanes? I’m from California and found it really weird that you had to explain it.
They're not really a thing in the Midwest where I'm from. Busses can use the shoulder, but thats about it.
I can say that the Mid-Atlantic doesn't. Our highways barely have shoulders, let alone a restricted lane taking up the width.

This is really not correct.
