i think the original designs are better because they are more in the uncanny valley, while the fnaf plus animatronics are clearly designed to look scary, completely overriding their initial function of making children happy
I don’t know, I think they instead look much more realistic, and a lot more in-line with the unsettling looks that, say, Chuck E. Cheese animatronics have.
Edit: Apparently I have different memories of Charles Entertainment Cheese compared to everyone else. Chuckie in particular had pretty much the exact same kind of dead-eyed stare that Bonnie and *especially* Freddy have in this fan game.
The chuck cheese animatronics are scarier than the ones from fnaf plus lol

The way Bonnie actually lunges at the cameras and disrupts them, they way both him and Chica also bang at your windows while they stand outside your office, and the way Bonnie stands inside your office for a while when he gets inside adds so much more horror, genuine dread. If this is just a fangame I can't imagine what the full game must've been like had it not been cancelled

I do like the fact that they actually move on camera now, always was my biggest gripe with the original. Though I’ll admit that it does lower the shock value of Foxy, in the first game it shocked you that he was running on camera, seeing as none of the other ones did. The animation still looks great, but just less impactful.

imo i feel like them not moving is scarier, just for me. the fact that they just stand there and you have no idea of where they’re going next or how they even got there just freaks me out
I actually kinda disagree. I was way more shocked seeing Foxy run in here than the og. I think it’s personally more scarier to me to see them fully move before your eyes, the little things.
I disagree with people when they say the designs of the animatronics in this game are trying too hard to be scary. Have you guys seen actual animatronics from the 80’s? Some are genuinely this level of creepy.

That doesn’t really justify it, if something is made specifically for kids it shouldn’t be scary, yet it is in this case, sure for a horror game the designs are nice but lore wise it wouldn’t make that much sense to be super horror-ey

When I was a kid in the early 2000’s, I went to Chuck E. Cheese’s nearly every year for my birthday. It never really occurred to me how creepy he was compared to what he is now. I know based on the pictures of my relatives who had parties there in the 80’s, chuck E. was SO much creepier.
I love how you can hear Foxy's footsteps running through the chambers and hallways.

While I prefer the og models, i gotta admit the way FNAF Plus executes the horror and jumpscares is impecable, i dont quite understand how the system truly works (since i havent played the games) but seeing bonnie tempering with the camera while you look at him is terrifying

Had the actual game not been canceled, I can imagine just how utterly terrifying it would’ve been. For a fan game, this is really well done.

Basically the developer said Fnaf Ruin was boring during his stream. A 16 year old called out and said, "Fnaf Plus should be boring then" (Something along the lines).
After that, the dev's fans sent death threats and gore vids to the guy, and the dev treated it as a joke. That's when he gets "cancelled", and decided to not publish the game.

The Plus versions of the animatronics look much, much scarier than their original counterparts, just from a pure design standpoint.
-Their eyes look more sunken. Sunken eyes are naturally terrifying.
-They're all extremely twitchy, giving the impression that they're machines truly gone haywire.
-Their grins look like genuine Slasher Smiles.
-Chica got that drooping right eye and the second set of teeth that we saw in FNAF 2.
-Freddy's Toreador song when the power goes is accompanied by that Joker-esque grin...and the jumpscare mid-song even startled me!
-Foxy actually going for the kill rather than just popping into the room and screeching was a plus.
Kudos to the creator of this game.
Trying way to hard to make them look scary while the uncanny look of the first one accompanied by the atmosphere is what made the game work.
i also found that the animatronics breathing on camera was unsettling

I don’t think anything can beat the original, not the biggest fan of the fan-made designs or any of the changes. But I have to give credit to what they did with Foxy, him being seen/heard across multiple cameras, and the jumpscare not being him just peeking into the room is pretty good
I disagree, foxy’s jump-scare is just a lot worse know, while the OG foxy jump-scare wasn’t all that scary the plus foxy jump-scare fells unatural

I REALLY like foxys animations in fanmade plus. The way he rounds the corner from pirates cove, and THUNDERS down the hallway shaking the camera as his eyes where lit up caught me off guard but it gave it more weight then just watching him blandly run it felt like he was something heavy and him running full tilt sprint down the hall shaking the camera gave it the sense of he’s a machine made of metal where him running has weight to it which I really loved,og is still good but I love the details, played this for my friends in call we all had only one nitpick was that during the investigation stage nothing really happened. We thought the animatronics would show but no. I hope phis or the fan made creator pass it down to someone who will put their soul into it and finally have a fully complete experience

Not really, they were trying to emulate fnaf 1 here, so putting in a random mechanic from fnaf 4 would be pretty out of place

I do like the way the new designs look, but as others said, they're trying way too hard to be scary.
People say to look up old chuck e cheese animatronics and I did, they have ugly, awkward looking faces, but overall still look cuddly enough, nor do any of them have the segmented bodyparts like FNAF.
FNAF+ is way too creepy to he for kids, OG FNAF is the perfect blend in the uncanny valley.
As a side note, its way harder to spot the animatronics in the cameras of OG FNAF, which adds to the creepiness. FNAF+ makes them easy af to see
I agree, the chuck e cheese animatronics were horrifying because they perfectly fit in the uncanny valley, Fnaf plus just tries too hard to look scary with the character designs and movement, the animatronics move too much in fnaf plus that it loses its creepiness, one thing that made the og fnaf so effective was that you rarely saw animatronics move, when you looked at the camera they were just completely still staring at you which made then all the more creepy and terrifying , in fnaf plus the animatronics leap around, lunge at the camera and violent shake constantly which completely ruins that unnerving atmosphere, this is a perfect example where less is more

These are great and all but I think the fadeout and death screen really break the immersion. This was my gripe with JR's as well.

I feel that the biggest difference is in the cut. Animations and animatronics are good but the white noise shortly after the screamer just adds some uncanny element of sorts, when fnaf+ instantly puts this weird musiv and weird animation that is imo much less scary than the white noise interrupting an intence screamer.
Foxy is a huge glow up tho
One thing that I like about Bonnie in FNAF plus I that he has the ability to disable cameras like Tjoc Office where Bonnie does the same thing

The original designs are scarier because of their uncanny style. The new ones are clearly designed to look scary, but the old ones, being made to NOT look scary and make kids laugh, makes it feel all the more creepy. But the new games executes the jump scares well.

The subtly of Fnaf 1 was what made it stick out. Making them look "scary" would ruin the believability that kids would grow attached to these characters. The point of Fnaf was to show how unsettling something normally cute and marketable can be under different circumstances.

I was prepared for the fnaf plus jumpscares yet i still jumped from my seat
The jumpscares in FNaF plus look a lot better (minus Freddy's power out because it's the exact same as his regular one) but the rest of it just seems like it's not trying to be an upgraded FNaF 1, but instead a 3d version that is trying too hard to be scary that it forgets what it's actually supposed to be

The golden freddy one is the only improvement. Being able to see the animatronics slide from the side before they scare you removes all surprises.

Crazy jumpscared
The new one is trying way too hard to be scary. The extra animations and seeing them right before the jumpscare kills the tension. It doesn't feel like they're relentlessly hunting you. Not to mention, these feel way too modernized. The older, blockier models felt like it was trying to be friendly but unintentionally comes off as creepy/uncanny. These newer ones are purposefully designed to be scary, which doesn't make sense.
Its a horror game, of course it makes sense. Its a reimagining, its not trying to be better than the original.
@@sallytheuselessbird Is the original not a horror game? Even if you don't think it is, there's a subtly that's lost with the new animatronics. The whole reason the original game got made was because it was Scott learning from his other game. Where the biggest criticism was that the characters looked like creepy animatronics.
