This one in particular has written plenty of other romance novel so misogynistic female writer may be a more appropriate term. You know the writer is female if the main male character fit into the knight in shining armor archetype (handsome, rich/successful, generally indifferent to other female) and the main female character is down-to-earth, relatable, and almost never richer or more successful than male character. I have seen this archetype in so many asian dramas that it's become boring and predictable.
It does represent well China and the attitude towards women in society. Woman in China can hope for one of two thing - 1. they marry a man who has no inclination towards aggression, alcohol or gambling and 2. her family will not insist on her marrying or staying with a man who proves to be one of the previous mentioned. As the society is heavily patriarchal, the laws do not protect women either.

He had been in love with the sister because he thought she had saved his life during an earthquake because the sister lead him to believe that while the true heroine was recovery from the injuries she got saving him. She was framed for the hotel room set up and for stabbing the sister before the wedding ceremony He learned the truth about her saving him by reading her letters to her mom that were at her memorial altar and he had his friend investigate the stabbing incident, she told him why her family set her up at the hotel during her sister's fake suicide attempt. Her father pushed her down and she miscarried one of the twins. The husband avenged her (after he learned she was "dead" ) by financially ruining her father, stepmom and half sister to take away what they gained the inheritance from her mother, due to a stupid clause. Even though he was divorced, he refused to marry the sister who eventually went off the rails and kidnapped his son and ended up in jail.

The series has changed things and doesn't even has 10% of the plotline and I think it rather sad . If It had tried to stay trust at least to 50% even if it couldn't keep up would have been good.
