As it happens, that's Dee Strange-Gordon, who was featured in a video you guys did a few months ago - he's the guy who hit the home run right after Jose Ferndandez died.
15:31 that was the Bullpen Phone. With how far the Bullpens are from the Dugout, they have phones set up between the two. Usually only the manager an Pitching Coach use them.
About those three pop ups, Chicago has weird wind due to Lake Effect Wind from Lake Michigan. add to that, the way the wind travels around the buildings, and you get a comedy of errors on pop flies in Chicago, both for White Sox and Cubs. I think it's worse in Wrigley because the wind effectively just swirls randomly at Wrigley due to the bowl effect. Though those three clips where at, what is now Guaranteed Rate Field in the North Side of Chicago, home of the White Sox.
On the pop ups, you are taught to move in on the ball, just in case, however someone needs to call for it. Also, the two balls that were missed, was in Chicago, which is known as the Windy City. Those balls were taken by the wind, and were hard to judge.

If the wind is blowing in, well, the 1990 Home Run Derby was held at Wrigley. Ryne Sandberg, of the Cubs, hit 3 home runs. The other 7 contestants combined for 2 home runs.

If you're gonna look at a bumgarner video look at his 2014 run. Especially the post season. You guys might be remembering the stare down correctly too. There's an epic stare down between Joe West and Bum where they just stare for like 30 seconds straight over a disputed strike non-call.
The guy celebrating the catch they called Johnny over the green wall is a retired MLB hitter that is known for hitting big hits in the big moments like world series. Look him up sometime
Re. that third clip: They do wear protective cups over the "groinal region". At least most of them do. Ive heard of guys not doing so but I suspect that's rarer than people claim.
The phones in the dugout go to the bullpen. It's there so that the manager can tell the bullpen coach who he wants to start warming up, since only two relievers can be throwing at a time. I'm actually surprised that those phones are still used now that we have text messages. There was an incident a number of years ago during a playoff game where the Cardinals ended up bringing in a different reliever than the manager wanted because the bullpen coach had misheard who he wanted to start warming up. The miscommunication was blamed on crowd noise. I don't remember exactly when that was, but it was definitely this century and well after texting was commonplace.
One of the recent rule changes is they increased the size of the bases to help cut down on those cases where the runner runs into the basemen LOL those hugs
You absolutely should do a video on Bumgarner. He was great back in the day. I also love his old school attitude, yelling at hitters and things like that. Not enough of that left in the game imo.
I also learned to juggle when I was a freshman in college cause as a pitcher I pitched in only 3 games the whole season. My main job was starting cheers, learning to juggle and being there before and after practice running foul poles. So ya I’m a good juggler
State Farm has Personal Auto, Renters, and Homeowners as their primary business. They sell Commercial Auto and Property under Lloyds, but it’s a small part of their business. State Farm is famous to other insurance companies for denying liability when they are at fault, and then letting it go to arbitration so that they can tell there customers that they don’t feel they are at fault, while paying out what they should have from the get-go. It’s a way for them to provide customer service by not disagreeing with the customer, despite wasting everyone’s time with answering a ridiculous arbitration filing or filing a lawsuit to indemnify the not at fault party. I work in insurance and have State Farm because I know my rates won’t go up as they will almost always, barring a rear end scenario, side with me and find me not at fault… even if I am.
On Corbin Burnes catching the popup for the third out and then sprinting into the dugout, there's a couple of unwritten rules having to do with infield popups. Generally, there's a pecking order on who should be the one to field it, established to prevent players from running into each other and getting hurt. For example, the shortstop is usually given first priority; if the shortstop is close enough, everyone else should give way. The biggest rule with this is that the pitcher should never be the one to field the popup, possibly because the pitcher is (presumably) the most valuable and the one you least want to get injured (certainly the case for Corbin Burnes), but more likely because position players don't consider pitchers to be "athletes," so a pitcher catching a popup is a shot at their pride. That should give some context as to why Burnes caught the ball, looked at his catcher who was initially calling for it, and then ran away with the ball. He was jokingly showing up his teammates.
9:32 - The pitcher is pretending to the a position player, eg: 1st baseman. If you watch games closely, you'll notice pitchers usually take their time making their way back to the dugout after the last out of an inning, to the point where they're usually the last ones in. This is for a few reasons, but the two most obvious is: position players hit and pitcher's don't (not always the case, but usually at least always a truth as far as skill) and because on defense, pitcher is the most labour-intensive position. The last part to really get the joke is, pitchers are not suppose to catch pop-ups, as, again, they are pitchers, not catchers. So, Burnes, after catching a pop-up (clearly because his catcher had entirely lost it - probably windy conditions), pretended he was a position player, because he's not. :)

Some pitchers will hit batters on purpose. That was clearly not the case here and the pitcher was concerned immediately for the other player immediately after it happened. It’s super obvious when it’s meant to be on purpose.

At 25:20 it was EXTREMELY windy, and tracking balls when it's that windy is very hard especially when they're moving like crazy like they were there.
Yeah with strong winds a simple pop up or fly ball will make you look like an amateur.

Those fly balls at the end of the video were difficult because it was extremely windy that day and the ball would be changing direction in the air.
