Spartans are my absolute favorite arrow and I've tested a ton of different arrows. I always end up going back to the 250 spine with 75 grains of brass. I also pull the stainless nock bushings and replace them with Easton H nocks. I just shave down the ridges on the nock a little and they fit perfectly. Takes 10 grains off the wrong end of the arrow.

@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA Just be sure the nock end is perfectly squared before you do it. I'm also running a 4 fletch TAC summit vane. They only weigh 4.8 grains each. My total arrow weight is 540 grains with just over 18% FOC with a 125 grain Ironwill single bevel. Things are darts and they hit hard.

Its blood splatter...mine are the same! Thats how they look on their website. Im actually impressed with them based off of your test. I have to test the flight yet in my setup before they go into my quiver. Looks like they would slice a nasty hole in a whitetail.

first off, i am glad to see this broadhead come back. now i know its back and will stock up. NEVER lost a deer using this broadhead. the paint on the ferrule is camo, not chipped. back in the day they made these with a chisel tip and a spin tip (hyperspeed ? for crossbow, if i remember correctly). they also sold them in 100 and 125 gr. if you have right helical fletchings , the arrows spin slightly quicker upon release. my brother and i were talking about these broadheads just this past week, saying we wish we could get more. the only improvement i could suggest is using titanium where possible however, that isnt necessary just a modern up to date advance. lastly, the blades do make the twist in the lungs just as they did in the gel. FORGOT TO ADD THIS TID BIT, BE CAREFUL AS TO SHOOTING THESE INTO TARGETS, THEY DONT LIKE TO COME OUT BECAUSE THEY TWIST GOING IN, JUST LIKE THE GEL TEST.

How have the blades held up afield?!? That’s my only concern with them

    • @johncaracci481

@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA personal experience, i am pleased. i never plan on re using broadheads and arrows that have been shot into an animal. the blades, like most hold up however depending on the tissues you hit determines the broadheads damage. i think the blades could be a bit thicker but i dont engineer them. used arrows and broadheads become practice set ups for me. i actually have more confidence in these broadheads than i do in mechanicals and only the montec G5 comes close for fixed blade. so back to your original concern, the only way for you to get the best feel is to shoot you a deer or hog with it and see for yourself. unfortunately, my experiences and opinion could be totally different than wat you find. i have not had a catastrophic experience with the crimson talons in the past. i will admit, one deer i harvested with the crimson talon, i had to unscrew the arrow from the broadhead bc the head was so lodged in bone, i couldnt get it out.

Crimson Talon is under new ownership. That’s not chipped paint lol. That’s the color pattern. Crimson Talon broadheads are way under rated. Those little blades are bleeder blades and actually do their job. Those broadheads absolutely need an arrow tuned to them. If you want the best of their fixed blades, check out the G2 hyper speed. I just ordered my G2 broadheads and I’ve shot most of the Crimson talon broadheads and I must say I am happy! $25 a pack and they absolutely get the job done. 1 1/4 inch cut and leaves a pretty impressive blood trail! For real though. Check out the Hyper Speed.

Ramcat, and B3 Destruk to test against this broadhead. Also, you should add a sharpness meter to your wish list of stuff for the channel so you can test how sharp they are out of the box.
