I've never stopped using this thing since I got it. I have waves vocal rider and Melda Production autovolume but this one just does what i want it to do without too much fuss.
Wow this particular plugin its pretty amazing , I use Waves Gain Rider a lot ,and in everything I do, tracking, mixing, you name it, and this one its much more complete, like the perfect blend of the Waves rider and the Hornet Autogain Pro (but much easier to use than this one), and with a dark interface wich is awesome, the only downfall is that it consumes more resources than the one from Waves, that´s a shame, specially for medium to big mixes, and I thought it´d be the other way around specially with the slim interface but no, other than that its right now the best gain riding plugin out there.

Great tool ! Does the MIX dial have a classic dry / wet behavior ? If so does the plugin have linear phase ? I'm considering using it in mastering (on a parallel bus with a splitted signal) to control low freq RMS with the HPF feature.... Could be just perfect in certain situations!
So if you happen to have a gain compensation plugin and you set the target level to the same as another audio sample, would that be doing the same thing as gain riding then?
I'll give them credit where due here, this one actually seems to work, unlike vocal rider which is terrible. I love the TB audio plugins one, but it's a lot more complex than this, so I'll definitely check this out. When I am in Pro Tools though, I use waverider, period.
Hi Adrian, this is plugin should not be used as Compressor as it is design to do a different type of job for your tracks :) If you are looking for solid Compressor, you shoudl take a look at SphereComp plugin: www.waproduction.com/plugins/view/spherecomp
Hugh Jones thanks, so you mean target is what I want the quieter parts to be? or turn down the louder parts? As what I usually end up is lower sound gets turned up for sure but the louder one gets louder pass the 0dbfs. If you could elaborate, please.
no, a compressor and a gain rider do very different things. The gain rider adjusts the volume up or down based on a target output, while a compressor only pushes down the volume of a sound when it goes above a certain threshold. A gain rider typically maintains the dynamics a bit more while a compressor leads to a more compressed/thick sound
If you produce EDM this tool can really help because of the different sample and patch frequencies. I have a good ear, but sometimes it’s hard to differentiate sound volume between 20 different fast paced extremely modulated sounds.
This plugin is so buggy, it adds heavy distortion and degrades the sound like crazy. Badly needs an update. Especially when you use the attack and release controls, its unusable.

Do the Max up/down settings allow you to define how many db of levelling is applied regardless of the input level?

it does not have a lookahead function, but there are attack and release settings that basically make it zero latency if you turn attack to zero.
Can I replace it with compressor and use it on all sounds ?
a compressor and a gain rider have similarities but are quite different. sometimes, a compressor is better for the purpose you need.

what is the difference between the free demo and the full paid version?
The full version has way more controls, you can determine the maximum increase/decrease in gain, how quickly it reacts, etc.
