- Absorption method of UV spectrophotometric analysis/ Multicomponent analysis. Most of the Pharmaceutical industries manufacture multicomponent formulation, as the treatment of many diseases viz. hypertension, tuberculosis, amoebiasis, bronchitis, etc. requiring symptomatic relief and/or cure. However, only a few of these formulations have an official method of analysis. The spectrophotometric assay of drugs rarely involves the measurement of absorbance of samples containing only one absorbing component.

How we can calculate the absorbance at 241nm for sod.benzoate and caffeine??
Yor are mentioned the different absorbance in your table so how we can calculate the absorbance for 241nm

You have to set the 241nm wavelength in the instrument using photometric mode then u can record the absorbance of both standard and sample(mix of these two drugs) one by one.

but when we are determining the Isobastic point , if we change the concentration of one the drug then the overlapping point changes, which changes the isosbastic point.
Yes, that's why we are using an equimolar concentration of standard drugs before recording the absorbance of the sample. Thanks for watching the video.
