If Derek Jeter and Aaron Judge can pay for a suite so can Soto. If that was the one thing holding him back from re-signing with the Yankees that says a lot more about his level of entitlement than anything else.

No one is questioning Soto's talent. But he pales in comparison to Ohtani, who can pitch, run better, hits more home runs and drives in more.I think Soto has a better OBP.I am just happy we did not take on that monstros contract because it would have handicapped them for years.

I loved watching Soto in the batter’s box this past year. He’s a special hitter. But…he’s not worth more than Ohtani, from a baseball perspective. His defense and base running are below average and the dimensions in citi field will not be friendly to him. He wanted to be the highest paid player. He achieved that so I’m just going to wish him well. He was always a rental and we’ve all known that the entire time. ❤️

A-Rod was the closest. Miggy’s contract aged very poorly in the last five seasons of his deal. Pujols’s deal aged very quickly. Once he got the injury bug, he was no longer the stud he was in St. Louis. Even if Soto doesn’t opt out in five seasons, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Mets look to deal out of that albatross of a contract. Good luck finding a taker for a DH in his 30s getting over $50 million/season. Yikes!

Steve Cohen is the richest baseball owner, at 21 billion in net worth. However, the Dodger's owner is also pretty well strapped. CEO Mark Walter has a net worth of 12 billion. His biggest asset is the Googenheim Financial Services Group. They have over 300 billion dollars in assets under management. If the Dodgers really wanted Juan Soto at any price, they could have landed him. My point is, you aren't going to beat either team by out spending them.
