    Huge thumbs up and thank you. I have been trying to get a computer or user certificate on my lab VM forever. I could never get it to work despite how many videos I watched. I also followed your video for setting up a domain controller which may have been where my trouble was. Thanks for the easy to follow, step by step instructions.

    Thanks for the tutorial. But I have a small problem. (maybe not). When I started the console and wanted to add the certificates (video time 6:51). W10 only allows me to add certificates - current user, not local machine. Maybe this problem is caused by the fact that I have a personal ID certificate on the local PC.
    Is this a problem?

    • @MSFTWebCast
      @MSFTWebCast  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You must have administrative privilege to manage local machine certificates.

      @@MSFTWebCast Yes, there was a problem, I was not using administrator privileges. Thank you for help. 🙂

    Great series on subject as I’ve been looking for this. Question on GPO when you create the Automatic Cert Request, you selected Computer. In the list of templates I see Domain Controller. Do you need to also select that one so Domain Controller can request specific certificate. In the follow on screen showing all the Issued Certificates, you showed certificates issued for Domain Controller, Directory Email Replication, Domain Controller Authentication, Kerbos Authentication. Or would all those Domain Controller certificates automatically get generated from the Auto Cert Request Computer GPO?

    Question - If I edit the Certificate Templates after a cert was issued will the update to the template be pushed to the issued cert? If not, what is the best way to get these changes to the client? Do I have to revoke the cert and issue a new one for the user or computer to see the changes? --- Great Videos -- Thank you!

    Don't you need to add the CA to trusted root certification authorities first?

    • @MSFTWebCast
      @MSFTWebCast  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes.. But in AD environment CA certificate will be automatically added to the trusted root CA list.
