Just used this bivvy for a 2 person overnight stay for 2 nights at a local lakes. i must say im well impressed! being lady anglers it certainly delivers comfort and lots of features that we used throughout the trip. thanks NGT!
I have had the original fortress bivvy & overwrap without the hood for a number of years and done many nights in the rain and wind and it as never let me down. It's this review that brought me to this channel and I can say that I have just upgraded to the "Fortress XL" it is very similar e.g the skeleton of poles and the window configuration but @ 3m × 3 1/2 m slightly larger and wait to try it out this year.
I have a JRC STI 2 man which looks identical apart from the front peak, my over-wrap came as std. I like NGT gear , good quality & great prices... this will sell well even though its a pretty competitive market... if... the build quality is there. 😎👍☘
I have the Prologic Session 2 man bivvy XL witch is 2 times bigger than this one :))......Probably this is going to be my next tent for smaller venues and times when there's not going to be a slumber party inside my tent :))..... Wanted to take this one, went the overkill route and bought a damn house. A friend of mine has this one and it's a great pick.
The overwrap seems like a good idea ! I used my cyfish 1man with overwrap on the ice in -13 its before the whole ngt brand and i can see where they get all ideas from the predessesors from all brands and for that Peng its a good idea .ive got tired of the small bivvy and need a bigger with a heater init! I fish the autumn and winter the most ca 120km from the Arctic Circle no carp up here but pike and Zander .
i have just got the fortress x 2 man great bivvy .one thing is the groundsheet at the door side bigger and backside is smaller by about 30 mm but fits well in the bivvy as video sed great for the money well impressed with it
I read about someone that used this exact same bivi to live in up in the Scottish Highlands through one winter after they become homeless.. apparently they spent the whole winter warm and dry whilst never fishing even once only using the bivi in place of a tent, after reading about this im thinking of get one instead of a tent because of how robust they are.
Just an update to my below comments if anybody is interested. Manage to sort problem, though did have to unscrew middle & rear sections, unthread from Bivvy, unjam poles & re-thread back on to Bivvy. Can't say I'm too impressed by this, & hope it doesn't happen again, but have lost all confidence with this & certainly would not recommend it, as this should never happen in the first place. Anyway have on fun the banks everybody, where ever you are. :)
good bivvy..its not plug n play as this video shows , its a nightmare to build and dismantle..but it is a good buy if you can be bothered , overwrap is a must..worth the money but a pain. i bought a fox frontier because im lazy
I need to make a step by step guide for it to be out up because it really is easy if you do it my way. But if those poles get twisted, then you wil be paddling up struggle kreek
@ItsTippToppFishing I've bought 1 but considering sending back and get a sonik sk-tek bivvy cause the comments saying this is awkward to put up is really putting me off
@itiswhatitis9011 I really think it's a matter of working out how to set it up. I honestly set mine up in about 4 minutes. But let's say under 10mins to be safe😋
I unfortunately only know of South African dealers. So they can get them to you anywhere in South Africa. If you live outside of SA, maybe try contact NGT directly and ask where they suggest you can get one in your area.
I have this bivvy with hood, & do love it, but unfortunately only been able use a couple of times, as the last time I went to put it up, the poles o n the rear & middle section have become wedged upwards on the right hand side, & I can't seem to release them no matter what. had to come home from session last week, not happy as 100 mile round trip. Anyone help? Can't seem to upload pics on here to show exact problem :(
@@ItsTippToppFishing Thank you, I'm at moment, but will do it soon as possible. Again thank you for your response, I hope it can be sorted, it maybe an easy problem that I just can't see. Be in touch soon :)

I am just starting my journey into carp fishing at aged 53, your videos are teaching me so much, thanks dude.
I have a fortress X with overwrap it’s brilliant in all weathers easy to put up and to pack away the over size bag helps too , loads of room inside 👍🏻

The best fishing bivvy is TF gear Airflo but sold out the next one is Nash as for the Nash all season camper bed is the best.

Hi . Which part of the groundsheet goes to the front ? Can't tell which way round it goes
Just received mine this morning! Due to it’s awesome reviews and for £145 delivered, what nutter would pass this up 🤣🤣🤣 ? Dave Uk 💪🏴🎣🎣🎣

best bivvy i have ever seen loads of space it’s brilliant i would recommend this bivvy to anyone
Nice video mate but would have liked you to show a panoramic veiw of the inside space👍
That's a good tip! Thanks man I will try remember that for the next one. Tight lines man
I got this Bivvy 100% recommend
what about the rain? :)
@@jacksiid4906 comes with another water proof skin and as long as I've had it it's kept me dry
@Dee Jay Yeah the structural quality is good and with the extra skin it comes with it traps the heat from a bivvy heater for long period
Do you know where to buy the overwrap for this please? All the photos where its advertised don't look like they will fit the hooded fortress bivvy?
@@arronbennett1450 hiya mate should come with it if you buy from NGT's website
Looks a nice a piece of kit
I see a lot of reviews of bivvies going up or already up, but none being shown packing it away. What's this like to pack away?
Like all bivvies, it's all about how you pack it. I pack mine down really nicely (+-6mins) and there is some space to spare.
@@ItsTippToppFishing appriciate the reply.
Just don't like the concept of the groundsheet. Should be a zip in one to stop any draft or wet getting in.
I wish I saw this comment before I bought it
I agree with the "I wish it had a zip instead of velcro" but it doesn't let in water/rain or a draft. But sometimes little critters do get in.
Ive just got the xl fortress

@@ItsTippToppFishing thank you for fast reply
Did you find one . I’ve been on the hunt for one as well
@@mattyj. go on eBay there is also a larger version just out
Does it have a zippable ground cover or is it loose?
It's velcro which does the job but not as well as a solid zip
What size bed can you put in it
Queen sized blow up mattress is the biggest you will fit with not much space on the sides
Very cool video!
Is there guy lines to help tie it down in string winds
Nope. The bivvy is very solid. It's more solid than my other tent that had guy lines.
Hi, what size is the footprint of the groundsheet? Cheers
It's a rounded version of the length and width of the bivvy. The dimentions are in the vid:-) hope it helps
Hey, I can’t seem to fine the overwrap anywhere is there any chance you can give me a link for it. Many thanks.
If you want to get it in SA, phone Hansie 0826045122 he brings them into SA and will give you a 10% discount if you give him the code ITTF123
Go on EBay they are on there type NGT Fortress X Bivvy Overwrap

"setup is easy, heres 20 steps"
and aluminum tub crossbars... talk about heavy. just use some normal tent rods and save some space.
No one ever shows a full build or packup...things a nightmare no instructions and limited youtube info
My next bivvy I will do a set up and take down. 😋

I slept two bed chairs in it last weekend. Remember you watched the video for free please be kind.
Always hard to peg down the front even on flat ground
