I'm so happy I found this video ! Thank You for deciding to post this video 6 years later great simple process with posh results . I'm making a bench using three high chairs from the thift store.
This is the way I thought all tufted headboards are done, but in real life, ppl do the wholes on the board and foam. Too much work. Love your way. Thank you.
Great project. My best upholstery projects have been done while kneeling on the board over the foam. It helps compress the foam so you don’t have to pull as much on the fabric. When you get off of the board, you will find that the compression was just about perfect.
Upholstering is something I’d love to do. I actually have a mate who’s a retired upholsterer but I haven’t had a chance to hang out with him to learn from him. This video was very helpful thanks. More please.
Color me inspired! TH-cam is better than pinterest and you're one of the reasons! Can't wait to see more when you get settled in at your new place.
Clay Plemons great point!
This is what I'm looking for. This is the easiest method I found on TH-cam. Thank you
Another winner. Who knew it could be that easy to upholster that way. Thank you.
Thank you so much! This has saved me endless hours of frustration and grief! God bless you!!
Dude, sheer genius!!! I've seen many upholstering videos, but this is bye far the simplest, most straight forward, no nonsense getting it done one that I've come across!! And the results look just as good as if you were to do it the correct(difficult) way!! Hope all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!!
More Upholstery please Elisha, it's an affordable way to make dramatic looks when funds are tied up!!! It's always delightful to watch and listen to you address and complete projects, keep'em coming, keep shining & Stay Strong ✊MUAH
I’ve been thinking about making a headboard and this just pops up in my feed! Lucky me.
Perfect timing!
I agree it would be a awesome headboard...
Haha
Who cares either
I like the design,movable/modular furniture is golden!
Great job. I'm watching your channel just briefly, but you have practical and simple creations. You're one of the few women charmed by woodworking. Hat down and look forward to your next video. A fan from Slovakia.
My wife has really been getting into liking tufting . She may be asking for me to make something with it and your video is the answer. Great video as always Elisha!! Btw.... I kept a lookout for the walker! 😜🤪
Hahahaha thanks! Did you catch a peak?
As a matter of fact... I did see it! 😆🤪
I like an x-acto knife for cutting the foam. You do have to cut through a couple times, but it leaves a very clean cut, right against the strait edge.
YESSS!!! I like the washer technique....I sense a DIY coming soon!!
Great video! Now I want to look up how traditional tufting is done. Would love more upholstery videos.
Very cool and easy build. You have a creative mind!
I love the color of ur hair it's really pretty
Thank u so much learnt a lot u are great may God bless those hands n give u abundant strength
Out standing bench. Could you use cleats on the bottom of the seat to hold the legs? Maybe not even glue the legs together for a more compact folded up bench for moving? Showing how to make the tufts will make building my wife her new headboard that much easier. Thanks for doing this video.
This is something that I never thought about before, but now I might try it! Your videos intrigue me Elisha! Great Job!!!
such a good idea using the drill, will give it a go!
The screw idea is really cool.
Hey dear nice tool collection 👍🏻😃😄
This was so simple. Love the modern look!
This was such a cool watch! I love upholstery and it was absolutely mind blowing to see how it’s done!
Awesome video..! Thanks for sharing the easy method... I would like to know if I can use this method on faux leather/vinyl leather without tearing the material..?? Was thinking of making a tufted Cal king headboard with closer tufts.. Thank you in advance..! :)
So simple, but looks amazing and beautiful, thank you for showing and sharing your tips of knowledge, and love your channel. Tare care and have a wonderful weekend.
Been wanting to do upholstery on some of my projects but always been a little intimidated. But watching you make it look so easy, I might have to give it a shot. Thanks for sharing. 👍😎
Awesome! I love hearing that
That was a nice trick with the buttons
Thank you for a practical and beautiful idea. I admire and love your work.

Cool! I have tried upholstery stuff before. Please, do show some more!
So easy, even a DIY Huntress can do it. 😁
Hahaha well, a DIY Huntress can make some pretty awesome stuff
Cool project and the design is nice.

I can definitely use this idea to make a hanging headboard!! Wonderful!!
Great video 👍🏻👍🏻
Good work and pray as I liked your workshop
Love your hair color and good job on the bench btw
Very nice ideas thank u... Ji
I am making one tomorrow! So inspired ✨
Awesome job Elisha! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Great work Elisha! it turned out very nice :) Thank you for sharing the video.👌👍😎JP
Best idea to install button
@pneumaticaddict thanks for the lesson! Easy to follow
You made it look so easy
Very well Made and thanks for sharing...
Really! i like very much your thinking. You have very good creative mind. Honestly.
What a fantastic trick. One question do you drive the self tapping screw down in reverse until you get to the wood and then switch to forward... or just drive in forward all the way down? Curious because fabric foam and, in particular, Batting tends to get twisted up if you drive through it.
Wow - cool solution! Can I suggest that some thickened epoxy (like West Systems G/Flex) might be a more permanent solution to attach the button heads? I know you said your hot-glue solution has held up well, but I've never had good luck with it.
I think the only thing I would improve on this is adding some form of under fabric to hide the staples and wooden underside of the seat, fabric spray glue is great for this 👍🏼.
very nice, and by the way,so was the bench.
Using that base technique for an upcoming video - thanks for making it so simple to understand.
Yay! 🙌 Thanks girl! I'm excited to see what you build 💪
Yeah but how long till those buttons start popping off though.
Just what i needed! Thanks.
Excelente terminado gracias
yes your are totally cool ,,, could spend a day ,,, looking at this channel or sleepless night ,,,
Looks like a really easy way to tuft. Is there a two-piece button available that you can screw the bottom to the seat and pop the top on afterwards?
Yes! I need that Arrow stapler. I have a hand squeeze one :-( Power is always better. Love this easy project!
Beautiful
Very nice. Great tip on using screws. Thank you!
for the items used in the video, you can add a picture of info of the item you use, like saw, which brand, glue which glue, by this way i can get all details
Wow! Handy girl!! Congrats!!
Nice work...
Great video! If you were going to attach the legs, how would you go about doing it?
I was thinking dowels. What would you use?
Great idea really come in handy for a entree way or mud room. Keep up the great videos
Thanks so much for the video. Now I want to make a headboard.
thats a genius idea i mean wow what a bloody ripper ;)
Seems okay for a headboard but doubt the glued on buttons would last long on a seating area
Love your videos. I need new blades and notice the Db blades you use on your saws. Whats the tooth count on the hand saw and table saw?
Very good
Cool, looks like something I wouldn't totally mess up :)
Hahaha go for it! 💪
Gracias por compartir ...si lo hare
Sweat! Simple and elegant.
PA, As always a great project along with an excellent narrative.... Is your new home going to have designated space for a nice new shop for you??? My bet is it probably will.... Keep up the great content.... 😊
Thank you! Yes! We will be building a 1200 sq ft detached shop.
@@PneumaticAddict Awesome!!! You go girl!!! :-)
One of my future journeys 👍👍👍👍
Thanks Gib! I'd love to see what you can make
Great work!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!! Panos from Greece.
Do you think the tufting with screws and washers will work for a 4"thick foam? Or is that too deep of a "dive" for the fabric to go inward?
This idea is beautiful and so are you. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Very nice, and the Headboard to.
Good work . I wish I was with you now
Loved it, great build
Great project! what are your thoughts on the Ryobi jigsaw? is there a lot of vibration when using it?
I like it! But to be honest, jigsaws are my least favorite tools so I haven't used it more than half a dozen times. I had an old Ryobi that wasn't so great, but this new brushless model is really good.
I’m going to try your method for the corners. I’m still struggling to find the best method...maybe it’s this ;)
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE YOU GOT YOUR FOAM?!
If I use this method making a cushion for my daughter's window seat won't the screws scratch and make intentions on the top of the window seat? I realize it will be covered by cushion but they just built a brand new home and know that will be a concern. Also can you feel the screws when you sit on it?
Pretty cool bench. nice tip on how to tufted. Question on the bottom of the bench legs are you going to put anything on them? Thanks again for the video.
I built my daughter a small rolling chest for her room and she wants a pillow top so that she can use it as a seat. This is going to be perfect thank you so much.
I'm so glad to hear that! I'd love to see what you make
I like every thing that you make. keep up the good work
Thank you so mush
Outstanding! Screws, washers and hot glue. That's almost funny, but it works!
Until some kids start playing with them ;)
Wow amazing !
Good Video! Thanks for sharing.
Excelente idea, gracias por compartir.
AMAZING work! Thanks for sharing.
How much would you charge to make some of those legs for me?? I have a headboard that I got wen I purchased a bed frame from mercari...unfortunately I got scammed out of 198. Because when I got the bed, it didn't have any screws and now I don't think all the pieces are even there so, I was trying to figure out what to do with the headboard and I actually came up with the same idea as you!
Wow beautiful I love it
