Thanks for your response last time, i got mine to work! and even added the machine check macro to ensure user app isn't used by multiple devices, i added two cells one for Registered Serial Num and Current Serial Num(also updated Data Structure in Make), the current serial num updates the first time app is opened and becomes the registered serial num afterwards, once the app is opened on a new machine, if the current serial does not equal the registered serial num, then it will advise them and exit sub! This was exactly what i needed and i thank you very much.

Wow! The introduction to integromat was exactly what I needed. On another note, I notice you use static cell references ("A1") rather than named ranges in your code. Named ranges help me to modify by workbooks without breaking my code but then there are several named ranges perhaps you wouldn't want the client to see. Just curious about your thoughts on the matter. Thanks for the great content.
I am using named ranges more and more these days, even with a single cell since its also easier to read in the code. As long as your workbook stays fast, I would say go ahead and create named ranges for everything as it helps for the reasons you have mentioned. Named ranges can also be hidden as well. To make sure that I understood it correctly, at the end we will end up with two different files: First one will be send to customer which will include the " Start " page only while the other file will include a the other sheets customized to fit my application and the complete set of Macros should be dragged into the both files? Yes that is correct. One of the files will be your application in which you send to the customer and the other will be another which allows you to control everything as an admin. I hope this helps and thanks so much.

Hi Randy, great training session. I have followed the tutorial but i get an error when trying to send an exisitng license. I get an error message "Please make sure you have an internet connection and run the correct webhook". The strange part is the webhook recieves sucesfully the request. Also new registration works fine. CAn you advise please?

I would use F8 to step through the code to see which line of code it is breaking on, then skipping to the error message. Once you find that line of code, you may be able to find the issue. Hello Mr. Randy , I admire your work Sir, and you are doing a great job, but there is a problem with the license application here, When we click "Refresh" Button to bring the new license from the txt file to know who else activated "our App". , the "license application" replace the first license from the list we have with the new license we bring it by the "refresh" button . you can check the video here at the minute 14:22 , we have license for "Barry Johnson" as the first license in the list, and at the minute 14:25 after clicking the refresh button we can see "Barry Johnson" replaced with the new one "Jim Johnson". Would this fully function using a MAC & if user is running the workbook on a MAC? Can this properly function if putting program into a exe file with XLS Padlock? Its better to just focus on creating software people want, making a lot of money, and forgetting about worrying about people who will break your software. I'm missing something, I have been trying many times to link the sheet into my application but for some reason the webhooks is not connecting to the data store after testing. I copied the webhook into both Registration and Application Modules Is it right they should have the same Webhooks? As per your sheet there were two different hooks. Also, I moved the registration forms and its module into the application and the other modules should be kept in the application software manager file? Thanks in advance. Hello Mr Andy, with your amazing licensing software, if a customer register the application for 6 months, then saves the application many times for their different files, would they be using one licence number for all their files? And what happens if the license expires? Will they loose all the workbooks for their files? Pls advise. Thank you
Hi and thanks, you can use a special code to set this to a single machine so that it cannot be used on multiple machines (such as computer ID) and the date is checked on open so they cannot use it if the current date is newer than the expire date. How much is that course I'm not sure which one it is, but licensing excel to a machine would be best I think. Can people still access modify vba and cells if they want. Is it pain free for user to download update wb and still be only registered to that machine hassle free. People get annoyed if they have to do to much as I'm sure you know. Thanks 👍🙂👍

Im sorry if you covered this in the video but it’s very long. Im searching for how specifically do you prevent the user from unlocking the application then using save as to create an unlocked copy and using it with macros disabled after it has been unlocked? Especially if your workbook is not heavily dependent on macros? I have complex layered array formulas and logic, but macros are not necessary in this use case scenario.

I wonder about an existing user that I want to extend his expiration date directly through editing in a database in Make, but the "PATCH" method does not allow that because it reads data from the workbook and updates the database. I tried using the "GET" method but it didn't work.
Hi @Noambrand. Thanks for your comment. You should be able to use the workbook to GET a specific date via a webhook, when you push a user ID or application ID and then update the local user. I am working on a solution that does not involve Make and allows you to sell licensed products or addins and I will put that into a mini-course in the coming months. @Noambrand I have been working with a new plugin lately called "License Manager for WooCommerce (Free)" they have a simple, but great API that allows you to both read and write directly to the license data, so you could easily read the expiration date and write to the expiration date using a webhook, without needed to use Make (which i really like, because i would rather not use Make) You can check out their API Documentation here: www.licensemanager.at/documentation/rest-api/developer-documentation/retrieve-a-license/ I am thinking to create a course on this licensing system.

Hi Randy, great training session. I have followed the tutorial but i get an error when trying to send an exisitng license. I get an error message "Please make sure you have an internet connection and run the correct webhook". The strange part is the webhook recieves sucesfully the request. Also new registration works fine. CAn you advise please?

I would use F8 to step through the code to see which line of code it is breaking on, then skipping to the error message. Once you find that line of code, you may be able to find the issue. Hello Mr. Randy , I admire your work Sir, and you are doing a great job, but there is a problem with the license application here, When we click "Refresh" Button to bring the new license from the txt file to know who else activated "our App". , the "license application" replace the first license from the list we have with the new license we bring it by the "refresh" button .
you can check the video here at the minute 14:22 , we have license for "Barry Johnson" as the first license in the list, and at the minute 14:25 after clicking the refresh button we can see "Barry Johnson" replaced with the new one "Jim Johnson".
I have the same problem, Can you please tell us how to fix this.

I'm missing something, I have been trying many times to link the sheet into my application but for some reason the webhooks is not connecting to the data store after testing.
I copied the webhook into both Registration and Application Modules Is it right they should have the same Webhooks? As per your sheet there were two different hooks.
Also, I moved the registration forms and its module into the application and the other modules should be kept in the application software manager file?

And what happens if the license expires? Will they loose all the workbooks for their files? Pls advise. Thank you
Hi and thanks, you can use a special code to set this to a single machine so that it cannot be used on multiple machines (such as computer ID) and the date is checked on open so they cannot use it if the current date is newer than the expire date. They would not lose their workbook however access to it would be limited (based on whatever access you want them to have)

Im searching for how specifically do you prevent the user from unlocking the application then using save as to create an unlocked copy and using it with macros disabled after it has been unlocked?
Especially if your workbook is not heavily dependent on macros? I have complex layered array formulas and logic, but macros are not necessary in this use case scenario.

I wonder about an existing user that I want to extend his expiration date directly through editing in a database in Make, but the "PATCH" method does not allow that because it reads data from the workbook and updates the database. I tried using the "GET" method but it didn't work.
Hi @Noambrand. Thanks for your comment. You should be able to use the workbook to GET a specific date via a webhook, when you push a user ID or application ID and then update the local user. I am working on a solution that does not involve Make and allows you to sell licensed products or addins and I will put that into a mini-course in the coming months.

@Noambrand I have been working with a new plugin lately called "License Manager for WooCommerce (Free)" they have a simple, but great API that allows you to both read and write directly to the license data, so you could easily read the expiration date and write to the expiration date using a webhook, without needed to use Make (which i really like, because i would rather not use Make)

Easy. I would crack into the VBA code, make change to it, and use the work book without expiry
For sure it can be done, but that should never stop you from developing and selling these applications. I much rather 1 person crack my code and get it for free and the other 99 pay for it, then not selling to anyone.

I really don’t understand what is the obsession about cracking software. Some of the people who like to crack software they don’t realise that we really want them to do that so that they can get satisfaction. After cracking then what?
