    I own a Cooks sharpener & setter, have parked them in the corner after buying a Woodmizer BMS250 as you have. We love ours, and has reduced labor tremendously, while providing blades that are sharper than out of the box. Please consider the following comment as only our “opinion” and what works for us. We had the same problem you did with profiled wheel wear on the face cut side. We’ve found that if our tooth face cut/sharpen is too hard of a contact then the face side of the wheel wears prematurely. We adjust the face cut during setup until we can spin the blade with our fingers feeling the abrasion of contact as a hard friction contact to the face of the blade, but the wheel still harshly turns by finger turn. If the blade won’t turn with our fingers it’s too hard. That hard contact on the face side should just be a “kiss” of a touch, and the blade tooth will turn out razor sharp, all while preserving your wheel face abrasion material. We believe the gullet grind eliminates gullet cracks while the face “kiss” makes for super sharp. Enjoy your videos.

    These videos with Mr. Robert and Mr. Howard are excellent! I’ve had my BMT250 and BMS250 for over a year now and love them. Great machines!

    If your face grind is a little heavy, the wheel will wear that way. If the back grind is a little heavy it will wear out on the other side. Mr Robert will get this thing dialed in, I'm sure of it. If any part of a cbn wheel is wearing sooner, adjust. Hope woodmizer gives y'all a break. Great video 👍

    I switched to mineral oil a few years ago in mine. Cheaper and not nearly as stinky.
    Cbn wheels last a lot longer that that if the machine is adjusted properly and you aren’t taking too deep of a grind.

    I use old worn-out 10" cupped wheels that were used in the Shake Bandsaw Grinders. Usually Armstrong #2 Grinders. They grind smooth, don't burn and hold their shape from the time I start using one till it's worn out. Radiac Brand by the way. Not sure of the Hardness of the wheel.

    Very cool! I don't sharpen my own as I find Wood-Mizers ReSharp program works well (or, obviously folks like Mr. Robert's would too) for me and allows me to concentrate on milling and cabin adventures instead :D Cheers!

    Love Mr. Robert? Why does he say the BMS250 is a good bit more expensive than the Cooks?

  • @mitchstephen5491
    @mitchstephen5491 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have a BMS50 and the same thing happened to my cbm wheel. The BMS 250 $3450 at the dealer in Ontario.

      Currently, he is using a cooks dual tooth setter. I have 3 different dual tooth setters, timberking, cooks and woodmizer. The cooks is my favorite followed by the woodmizer.
